"Over the past seven days there have been 28 selections for eleven winners for a POT of 30%, and 18 placegetters for a LOT of 1%".

Why compound the loss by having 3 or 4 times as much on the place?

Hi, Stix and Mark. I suppose it's a matter of personal preference - I like the higher strike rate with place betting. As racing is often not consistent it's possible that place betting might prove to be superior, or at least also show a profit. And as there has only been one week's betting, who knows...? I've begun 1 X 3 - hopefully both win and place will be profitable.

From yesterday's two selections there was one winner of $1.80, and both placed for a return of $2.40.

Three selections today.
Taree R9 no.4 - Anitalyn
Rocky R1 no.3 - Equitant
Rocky R5 no.9 - Built Like Clint.

Not a good result yesterday. Three selections for one winner of $3.20 and one place of $1.30.

I have slightly changed the selection criteria. It would have eliminated: yesterday's two losers; unchanged on Monday; on Sunday the winner of $3.20 and the three losers also would have gone, and on Saturday the only loser. So from today I'll list the selections from the new sysytem, and hope...

Sandown R1 no.3 - Classic Benbarra.
Belmont R1 no.1 - Interange
Belmont R4 no.3 - Noble Pak
Belmont R5 no.3 - Mexican Mist
Belmont R6 no.3 - Cupiditias.

Great work again mate. Three out of three.

Using a staking plan, win only to back them, would have resulted in a three unit loss today. If you are confident in the selection process then u can outlay more backing them place only

Hi, Kiwi. Unfortunately it was only two out of three - Philatelist was unplaced. I don't know what happened with it, I did not listen to the race.

From yesterday's three selections, one of them won paying $4.00, and the total place was $3.30.

Two selections today.
Scone R2 no.1 - Rostrum
Scone R6 no.15 - Kandinski. (I don't understand how this can be a selection, but...)

If it helps Kandinski was a poor selection jockey wise.Check the Virtual Form Guide he has an overall windx showing:

01/08/05 to 10/08/05 17 1 0 1 5.9 11.8 10.6
Total 2418 93 129 170 3.8 16.2 36.3
Last 100 100 7 3 6 7.0 16.0 33.2

The 10.6, 36.3, and 33.2 figures indicate a jockey in very poor form.
