Wyong R1-3 Port Peru was a very impressive trialler after showing nice form last season. A definite chance here. Baez is the main danger. I also like the prospects of Wyong R4-2 Philatelist. It's form suggests that today's race will be just perfect for it. However, it could be risky taking a short price in what is just a weak staying maiden. Monte Dreamer the danger. Townsville R5-1 Dini Who is in strong consistent form with an in form jockey and trainer. Good 3rd at Mackay last Friday. Dorian is the obvious danger.
TOWNSVILLE R5-1 DINI WHO, 2 Dorian (2,1 - 5,9,3,4) R7-4 SEA COUNSEL, 1 Trip To Manila, 5 Gold Tusmani (4,1,5 - 10,2) WYONG R1-3 PORT PERU, 4 Baez, 5 Avenue Girl (3,4,5 - 9,10,2) R4-2 PHILATELIST, 1 Monte Dreamer (2,1 - 6,7,8) BENDIGO R6-4 PRINCE OF SCRIBES, 3 Polish Sniper, 10 Hale 'N' Hearty (4,3,10 - 9,2,13,5) R8-11 CAPTAIN ZERO, 10 Bono, 9 Brief Alliance (11,10,9 - 8,1,4) I also think Wyong R6-2 Fighting Fund looks very promising and is likely to win today. However, it'll probably be very short and I don't like backing horses at their 2nd career start after an impressive first start win. A lot don't seem to go on with it for some reason. So I might just watch that race. Last edited by Sportz : 11th August 2005 at 11:48 AM. |

How right I was there!!! Thankfully, Monte Dreamer still won for us and the trifecta was okay. |

I went okay today. 2 of my 3 best bets got up, and the danger won the other. Found the winner and trifecta in 5 of the 6 races. I'm glad I decided to leave Fighting Fund.
TOWNSVILLE R5-1 DINI WHO $3.50, 2 Dorian (2,1 - 5,9,3,4) R7-4 SEA COUNSEL, 1 Trip To Manila $2.20, 5 Gold Tusmani (4,1,5 - 10,2) WYONG R1-3 PORT PERU $3.80, 4 Baez, 5 Avenue Girl (3,4,5 - 9,10,2) R4-2 PHILATELIST, 1 Monte Dreamer $3.50 (2,1 - 6,7,8) BENDIGO R6-4 PRINCE OF SCRIBES $4.60, 3 Polish Sniper, 10 Hale 'N' Hearty (4,3,10 - 9,2,13,5) R8-11 CAPTAIN ZERO, 10 Bono, 9 Brief Alliance (11,10,9 - 8,1,4) |

Hi Guys ..
firstly Thanks Sportz for Port Peru ..love having a great start to the day .. Express Messenger...and Gold Tusmani ...Guess who made a stupid beginner mistake at townsville today ...yes me...i didnt realise the rail was out so far ..completely overlooked it after a late one last night ... no way i would of backed either ...makes it a very leader bias track townsville and i'm guessing by the results it was again,,, silly silly boy....thats $1000 bucks down the drain,,, Monte Dreamer...easy win...i dont really know what the fuss was about with phalterist or watever ..i was real confident here and really should of had a double stake go at it,,oh well....good win and a nice tri a few times..(after Port peru in the first it makes it a winning day already.. Port Peru ...finally got a tip early enough to follow..thanks mate..i owe you one.....needed the 5 to get a place for the tri 25 x ..still a nice result Polish Sniper....what was i betting in this race for ?? my ratings were all over the place..jumpers ?? horse doubling in distance from last start...track querriess ??? should of just left it alone..another mistake today.. Ariante ,,,left this one alone...silly odds .. sounded like a weird race... Still have one more to go soon..Don't say a word..hard to beat the hot pot but i'm confident.. Good day again..2 from 5 so far ... but as you can see i'm alittle dirty on myself for Townsville and the Polish Sniper bet.. 25% up so far ... |

Yeh good work guys, Mav, just looked at the replays, really like the way Tasman Trader ran and think you were very unlucky, he goes in the book. Pretty confident on one tommorow, most likely favorite, will post shortly.

Rc 3, looks a match race between Ruby Star and Marqueeta, they both ran very well same track first up on the heavy last start. Ruby beat marqueeta that day but i think it will change tommorow. She showed plenty of potential as a 2yo and then Marqueeta ran terrificly well against the creme last spring around some of the best fillies, like her strong 5 length 7th to Mango Daiquiri and Hveger, a third to Astrodame, and a meriad of other talent she has been right there with. Ruby Star also ran well in the city, but her runs failed to stack up against that of Maqueeta, and the last run of Marqueeta although being beaten by Ruby, was at least par if not superior to that horses. Maqueeta has excellent form on the Slow/Heavy ground and if there is a margin between these two i'm confident it lies with Marqueeta.
Hore Lacy has a first starter engaged in Stormy Skies, who has won his only trial on heavy. Very happy to risk however, his time was very slow, even in comparison to the fillies in his age group, and he runs into a couple of smart mares here. Serene Sun made good ground in a decent C1 last start, lightly raced and looks a top hope for multiples, although never started on a track worse then good, the rest on their recent runs simply can't win. Good luck tommorow all, hopefully there is some $3-4 available for Marqueeta as i have a very slow weekend. Last edited by Mr ed : 11th August 2005 at 08:49 PM. |

Ipswich
*Branch ..Hawkes runner fitter for the barrier trail,,,ran some nice races last prep and looks to have it over this ordinary lot.. *Medieval Time...drawn wide but so has the other dangers in this race..lot to like about his last win and looks to have come back from a long let up feeling pretty good...would want a price here with the wide barrier .. *AquaD'or ...should be 100/1 ,,likes the distance and track..got the good barrier,,,might be worth a little e/w ..bout time i got a longshot up..this might be my fun bet of the day... Goulbourne.. *Unlocked.....fought on well in a harder class2 last start...should race prominent and be in it for along way.. * Petrol Head ...gets the wide barrier again..hopefully they learned there lesson from last start where they led with him and ride him quietly this time.. i think the extra distance suits and all he needs is alittle luck in the straight.. would want some sort of e/w price but fairly confident.. If you dont mind the wide barriers ..Audited in the 7th looks good,,but from barrier 20 hes hard to have for me.. only the possible 5 tomorrow ....plus Mr Eds Marqueeta ...been a winning week ..after the shocker last week ..regardless of what happens tomorrow... if you've got a special sportz or Luv2 i'll check in if i can .. good luck guys |
