Thumbs down Results March 12th

The Daily Donkey put in a blinder with a profit of 10.06 units, and we massaged ourselves to a 2 unit loss! You've got to hate that. Still ahead on POT.

Time Name [Racecourse]
02:10 Lady Wilde [Taunton] ... TOO LONG NO LAY
02:30 Bright Eagle [Plumpton] ... LOST +1.00
02:40 Sitting Duck [Taunton] ... LOST +1.00
02:40 Orsus [Taunton] ... LOST +1.00
03:30 Malmo Boy [Plumpton] ... WON -6.00
04:10 Shernatra [Taunton] ... LOST +1.00

Results from March 6th 2007

Pixie Units Out: 24.00
Pixie Units Profit: +7.17
Pixie POT: +29.87%

Donkey Units Out: 132.00
Donkey Units Profit: +12.62
Donkey POT: +9.56%

PS: I actually managed a small profit for the night on the strength of laying to prices.

PPS: Note that the Daily Donkey appear to have changed their results and they now show a small loss for the weekend.

Default Mistake in Daily Donkey results

The Daily Donkey show the selection Malmo Boy as a winning lay to them in their results from last night. Rest assured I've the negative entry in my Betfair account that says otherwise. It won by a little over a length.

Makes you think about the accuracy of some of their other results...

Yes but I did take that into account when I posted their 10.06 unit profit.

Still quietly confident that we'll do better than their brute force approach. They were fortunate that the other winners were mostly long odds on.

Question What about this idea?

Should we be using the Racing Index (www.racing-index.com) to assess the Daily Donkey's results? I think this has the advantage of being independant, and a lot less work of a morning. We could just put the start and end dates in and off we go.

Secondly, for ease of management (mine) should we be including the weekends as well as selections over 10/1? The problem is though that I'm unable to post our subset of selections most weekends as I try to use Saturday nights and Sundays to get on with life. I'd therefore have to post the selections early the next week which is no good for punting, but helps with our comparison. Would you consider this cheating?

What do you think?

I certainly think that method of recording results would be fine.

What we really need is a 24 hours non stop racing service that screens US races, Aussie races, Hong Kong, South Africa, UK all live.
In this day and age it doesn't make sense to not have a dedicated channel to world racing. Pacing and greyhounds could be done on a seperate channel to avoid clashes.

Chrome

Thanks. I'll get a couple more opinions but I reckon this is the way to go. Your right with the pricing of these selections.

You could do some type of IPTV that was viewable on a computer. Buffering would be an issue but it'd be a good start.
