No Joy yesterday as Roanne started at $18 and failed to place.

A HUGE Saturday ahead of us!! I'm very excited and can't wait to see if Denman can run the 1600m right out. I'll admit that i won't be backing him with that slight query at short odds, however I will be cheering him home!!!

Today's runners:

ROWLAND FLEM. r4 n10 ROY HIGGINS QLTY. 53.0. LONHRO PARIS IN THE FALL
Career:13-1-2-2 $27,167 Good:6-1-0-1 Dead:6-0-2-1 Slow:1-0-0-0 1st-up:4-1-0-0 2nd-up:3-0-1-1 Won 1600
Stepping up to 2600m. Has saddlers wells on the Dam side which should add some stamina. Has run 2nd over 2444m in 0-62 grade. Tackles a hot field today and is $12 fixed odds.

DENMAN FLEM. r7 n1 CROWN AUSTRALIAN GUINEAS. GG1. 0.0. LONHRO PEACH
Career:11-9-0-1 $1,194,125 Dist:1-0-0-0 Track:2-1-0-1 Good:7-6-0-0 Dead:1-1-0-0 Slow:1-1-0-0 Heavy:2-1-0-1 1st-up:3-2-0-1 2nd-up:2-2-0-0 Won 1100 to 1400
No intro needed for this one. I truly hope he runs the 1600m! $1.65 fixed odds.

RO'S PURRING GCST. r5 n4 ILVE TITANIUM HCP (C4). 54.0. LONHRO SHE'S PURRING
Career:2-2-0-0 $14,950 Good:1-1-0-0 Slow:1-1-0-0 1st-up:1-1-0-0 2nd-up:1-1-0-0 Won 1000 to 1030
Has won 2 from 2 and started $1.4 favourite last start. Had a 45 day break since and will be SHORT!

HALO HALO K GR. r1 n9 CATHOLIC DEVELOPMENT FUND. 0.0. LONHRO CHURCH ON SUNDAY
Career:9-0-1-1 $7,800 Dist:2-0-0-0 Track:1-0-0-0 T/D:1-0-0-0 Good:5-0-1-0 Dead:3-0-0-1 Heavy:1-0-0-0 1st-up:3-0-0-0 2nd-up:3-0-1-0
9 starts for a 2nd and a 3rd. Started short price favourite last start and failed to flatter.

RAIN MELODY K GR. r1 n11 CATHOLIC DEVELOPMENT FUND. 0.0. LONHRO RAIN IN SPAIN
B F 3 Lonhro x Rain in Spain (Marauding (NZ)) D W Storey & Mrs V G Storey YELLOW, BLACK QUARTERS
Has shown ability in trials running a first and second. Chris Waller trained. First start today.

RECKONS K GR. r2 n4 GLENNOS CONSTRUCTIONS P/L. 0.0. LONHRO SHOUTS
Career:2-0-0-1 $4,180 Dist:1-0-0-1 Good:2-0-0-1 1st-up:2-0-0-1
Last start 3 length third at Kensington. Looks to be some good breeding in the race with a few first starters.

FRENCH ROSE K GR. r2 n7 GLENNOS CONSTRUCTIONS P/L. 0.0. LONHRO SOUTHERN ROSE
First starter in the same race as Reckons. Gerald Ryan trained.

ANSCHLUSS K GR. r8 n5 JM STEPHEN PTY LTD HCP (C. 53.0. LONHRO EXCITED ANGEL
Career:7-1-1-1 $24,935 Dist:1-1-0-0 Good:1-1-0-0 Dead:4-0-0-1 Slow:2-0-1-0 1st-up:3-0-0-1 2nd-up:3-1-0-0 Won 1500
Last start was too bad to be true running 14 length last. Will need to find the will to run again.

CELERO QBYN. r6 n1 Q R C FUNCTION CENTRE HCP. 54.0. LONHRO DANISLEW
Career:14-2-0-1 $23,800 Dist:1-0-0-0 Good:11-2-0-1 Dead:1-0-0-0 Slow:2-0-0-0 1st-up:2-0-0-0 2nd-up:2-0-0-0 Won 100
Both his wins have been on good tracks over 1000m. Ran on a slow track last start so might pay to forgive the run.

BEADED RAND. r8 n2 TURNPOINT WENONA GIRL HCP. GLR. 53.0. LONHRO SUBTLE
Career:8-6-0-2 $215,580 Dist:4-3-0-1 Track:1-0-0-1 T/D:1-0-0-1 Good:5-4-0-1 Dead:2-1-0-1 Slow:1-1-0-0 1st-up:2-1-0-1 2nd-up:2-1-0-1 Won 1100 to 1300
I'm a huge fan of this horse for pure consistency. Never been out of a place in 8 runs. Meets a good field today so we'll see what he's made of. $4 fixed odds.

Have a mighty fine days punting and all the best!

A nice day's punting yesterday saw the gutsy Beaded get up with a few youngsters throwing in fine performances for a steady profit.

The winners yesterday were: Beaded $2.90, Ro's Purring $1.90, Reckons $4.80 and Rain Melody $2.30

I was bit sad to see Denman not fully run the 1600m out. McEvoy said he pulled a little so possibly he'll develop later on but I have serious doubts. It's just a shame as there are so many quality mile races that i would have loved to see him run in. Maybe they should set him for the Stradbroke or Doomben 10,000 and give the Queenslanders a treat?

Anyway, onward and upward.....

One runner today:

PARKOUR ALB . r7 n4 COMM. CLUB MAHOGANY BAR (. 54.0. LONHRO COAT
Career:11-2-0-1 $18,275 Dist:5-2-0-0 Good:4-0-0-1 Dead:6-2-0-0 Slow:1-0-0 1st-up:4-1-0-0 2nd-up:3-1-0-0 Won 1200 to 1218
Has run two respectable races since coming into the care of Brett Cavanough. I'd like to see some sting out of the ground as both his wins have come on dead tracks Dead:6-2-0-0

No Joy from Parkour on Sunday. Think he may have lost his zest for racing for the time being.

Today's runners are:

LONROSE P MQ. r4 n9 HARELEC SERV. SOLAR POWER. 54.0. LONHRO SOUTHERN ROSE
Career:14-0-1-2 $3,600 Dist:2-0-0-1 Good:6-0-0-1 Dead:4-0-0-1 Slow:2-0-0-0 Heavy:2-0-1-0 1st-up:3-0-0-1 2nd-up:2-0-0-0
14 starts for a second and two thirds doesn't exactly breed confidence. It'll be wet today and has run a 2.5 length 2nd on Heavy ground. One for the multiples or perhaps just watch??

LONARO TERA. r2 n7 PERSUADER RACING PRODUCTS. 0.0. LONHRO SPRING FLYTE
First up today. Ran a 1.7 length 4th first up last time. Second up went within a whisker over 1200m. Might be worth blackbooking for the second up run.

I'll be staying away today and focussing on Newcastle tomorrow for the Newmarket.

Not even a place from the two lackluster runners yesterday. The horse that won Lonaro's race Seven Dragons might have some promise at the provincials, giving the rest of the field a tidy beating by 3.5 lengths.

Today's runners for Newmarket day at Newcastle:

SAINTHOOD NCLE. r7 n10 NEWMARKET HCP. GG3. 53.0. LONHRO BONNE FAMILLE
Career:10-3-3-1 $126,580 Dist:2-1-0-0 Good:2-0-0-1 Dead:4-2-1-0 Slow:2-1-1-0 Heavy:2-0-1-0 1st-up:4-0-2-0 2nd-up:2-1-0-0 Won 1300 to 1600
Was a big winner at Canberra last start in a listed race beating the handy Bay Window. Steps up in class again today but improving type. Will be very interested to see how he runs.

TAHNEE TOPAZ SANL. r1 n7 ADELINA HCP (82). 53.0. LONHRO TAHNEE
Career:7-1-4-1 $58,120 Dist:3-1-2-0 Track:2-0-1-0 T/D:1-0-1-0 Good:2-1-0-1 Dead:5-0-4-0 1st-up:2-0-1-1 2nd-up:1-0-1-0 Won 1200
Hayes trained, seems to like a dry track with its only win over 1200m at Moonee Valley on a good surface. Has run 4 seconds on a dead track. Second up after a year spell.

DYSPHONIA SANL. r4 n9 HYDROGEN HCP (68). 53.0. LONHRO STUTTER
Career:6-1-1-1 $13,655 Track:1-0-0-0 Good:1-0-0-0 Dead:2-1-1-0 Slow:3-0-0-1 1st-up:3-0-1-1 2nd-up:1-1-0-0 Won 1400
Nice first up run, coming a close 2nd over 1200m. Last time in won 2nd up on a dead track over 1400m by 3 lengths. Is running over 1300m today.

MARTINDALE HALL SANL. r8 n2 DESIRABLE HCP (72). 53.0. LONHRO ROMANTIC FLYER
Career:7-3-0-1 $53,247 Dist:3-2-0-1 Track:1-0-0-0 Good:1-0-0-0 Dead:4-2-0-1 Slow:2-1-0-0 1st-up:2-1-0-0 2nd-up:1-1-0-0 Won 975 to 1230
Consistent performer winning 3 out of 7 runs so far. Seems to like a bit of sting out of the ground with all wins on dead or slow. 2nd up today, it's 1st up run was average running a 7 length 4th over 1000m though on a good track. Comments were Lobbed behind line of 3 leaders, off heels turning in, handy enough 5th top strt, out-sprinted, head to side, battled on.
Might pay to forgive?

Hi all,

Sorry I was away from the computer yesterday so no update.

Today's runners are:

CELERO CANB. r4 n2 ACTEWAGL HCP (C2). 54.0. LONHRO DANISLEW
Career:15-2-0-1 $23,800 Dist:8-2-0-1 Good:12-2-0-1 Dead:1-0-0-0 Slow:2-0-0-0 1st-up:2-0-0-0 2nd-up:2-0-0-0 Won 1000
Nick Olive trained, won at the distance. Needs a good track to show best.

MY TOY BOY IPSW. r9 n9 150 YEARS IPSWICH RACING. 54.0. LONHRO WINONA
Career:10-1-0-1 $8,150 Dist:7-1-0-1 Track:5-1-0-1 T/D:4-1-0-1 Good:7-0-0-1 Dead:1-1-0-0 Slow:2-0-0-0 1st-up:3-0-0-0 2nd-up:2-0-0-0 Won 1350
Won at the track and distance. Had a freshen up since 14 length last on a slow track which followed a 2.5 length 5th 1st up. Won on a dead surface.

CLASSIC GUITAR MWBK. r2 n6 HUNTER REGION BEC MDN HCP. 54.0. C LONHRO HOT RIFF
First ever start. GREAT name, dam being Hot Riff. LOVE IT! Hasn't done much in two trials. Snowden trained.

BALUSTRADE SALE. r2 n3 DAVID'S MENSWEAR MDN PLAT. 0.0. LONHRO PARAPET
First start, Freedman trained. No trial form.

I'll try to check the results from yesterday later on.

Moving forward I think I'll stick to metro and major provincial meetings as I don't go near most of the horses running on Monday, Tuesday etc and the really good Lonhro's (and profitable ones) seem to be trained by the good trainers. Snowden etc.

2 scratchings yesterday with Shadrach and Custard both out.

There were some decent runs with Osequious running a fine 2nd, to the steam train that is Military Rose. What an exciting Slipper ahead!!

Demerit ran a respectable 4th and will no doubt tune up further from that.

Trim ran 5th to Rostova which was no mean effort coming back from the 1400m. I'm not sure where they'll go with her now, I'm not a fan when a horse gets taken up and down in distance during a prep.

Today's runners:

GIZA SUNSHINE CDCT. 4 4 GRIFFITHS PARRY LAWYERS (. 54.0. LONHRO MEEDAN
Career:13-2-1-2 $12,700 Dist:1-0-0-0 Track:1-0-0-0 T/D:1-0-0-0 Good:10-2-1-2 Dead:1-0-0-0 Slow:2-0-0-0 1st-up:4-0-0-1 2nd-up:3-0-0-0 Won 1200
Ran a 5 length 5th of 7 last start over 1100m.

SHADOWCAST COWR. 1 4 COWRA GUARDIAN MDN PLATE. 0.0. LONHRO VISUAL DISPLAYS
Career:5-0-0-0 Dist:3-0-0-0 Good:5-0-0-0 1st-up:4-0-0-0 2nd-up:1-0-0-0
Barbara Joseph takes over from team Hawkes. That's the only plus to what looks like a horse who'd prefer to frolic in a paddock than run on a race track. Go on surprise me!! However, at least have the decency to get home at 50/1!!

BASS ROCK K GR. 1 1 ACCENT BUSINESS TECHNOLOG. 53.0. LONHRO CATRIONA
Career:4-0-1-1 $7,250 Good:2-0-0-1 Dead:2-0-1-0 1st-up:2-0-0-1 2nd-up:1-0-0-0
Ran a nice 2nd over 1400m last start on a dead track at Warwick Farm. His Dam is by Bellotto so probably appreciates the sting out of the track. The track is currently rated good. Snowden trained.

BLACK FIX K GR. 3 4 COLEMANS FENCING MDN PLAT. 0.0. LONHRO LATTE
The potent O'Shea/Bowman combination in force here means this debut runner will start short. Two trial wins leading into this.

PARTHIAN K GR. 3 9 COLEMANS FENCING MDN PLAT. 0.0. LONHRO GREETING
Career:4-0-3-0 $15,880 Dist:1-0-1-0 Good:1-0-1-0 Dead:2-0-2-0 Slow:1-0-0-0 1st-up:2-0-2-0 2nd-up:1-0-0-0
In the same race as Black Fix, this Snowden runner has been the bridesmaid on 3 out of 4 occasions. Ran a respectable 2nd in a Canberra Maiden 1st up last start. If the Black Fix hype machine goes into overdrive than this one could be value. Second fav in early markets to Black Fix.

JEREZANA K GR. 4 8 MYER FASHIONS ON FIELD (B. 53.0. LONHRO SADDLER'S SILK
Snowden has thrown this filly in against the colts and geldings, with some experienced runners in the race. She is 1st up today. 1st up last time in she ran a close 2nd to Verballed who won yesterday at Rosehill. Will get back and charge home.

My apologies for not updating the P/L scenario. There was a massive winner on Wednesday with Dysphonia getting up by an eyelash paying $16.10!! Happy days! Tahnee Topaz also saluted that day to make it a cracker!! Sainthood's jockey Nathan Berry fell off in the Newcastle Newmarket and both horse and jockey were unharmed, which is always good in those situations. Money comes a distant second to human and equine health!

Don't you love trainers taking the ******** out of you!! Shadowcast obviously loves its new surroundings and saluted yesterday at $4.60 on unitab. No I didn't back it!

I was, however on Parthian who paid $2.40 Unitab and Jerezana who paid $3.20. Both Snowden horses gave backers nice easy wins by 3 and 2.3 lengths respectively. Both are consistent horses who I feel will pay to follow.

It's all happening today with some nice Lonhro's on the prowl. We even have Lonhro's sister running in 4th race at Warwick Farm SHANNARA. She's run a 3rd to Veballed and Jerezana who have both since saluted nicely. I'll be on her if we can secure a fair price. Hoping for $3 at the minimum.

Today's runners:

STATUS QUO Wark Farm r 2 n 6
Career:6-1-0-1 $30,650 Track:1-1-0-0 Good:3-0-0-0 Dead:2-1-0-0 Slow:1-0-0-1 1st-up:2-0-0-0 2nd-up:2-1-0-0 Won 1400
Won convincingly at the same track over 1400m last start. Steps up to 1600m. Has won in dead conditions.

CRUNCHES Wark Farm r 4 n 12
Career:2-0-0-1 $2,430 Dist:1-0-0-1 Track:1-0-0-1 T/D:1-0-0-1 Good:2-0-0-1 1st-up:1-0-0-0 2nd-up:1-0-0-1
I think Snowden is trying to line up this one with SHANNARA to see how they compare. Has run two cheeky races previously being beasten by slender margins. Quinella with Shannara?

ONAROHL Eagle r 5 n 5
First starter with lovely breeding out of Pride of Tahnee.

EGYPTIAN LOVA Sand r 5 n 10
Career:12-3-1-2 $59,450 Dist:4-2-0-2 Track:4-1-0-1 T/D:2-1-0-1 Good:5-0-0-1 Dead:6-3-1-0 Heavy:1-0-0-1 1st-up:4-0-1-0 2nd-up:2-1-0-1 Won 1300 to 1400
2nd up after ordinary 1st up effort in a listed race at Morphetville. Has won second up and at the t/d. Brad Rawiller on board.

ROWLAND Sand r 6 n 11
Career:14-1-2-2 $28,167 Dist:1-0-1-0 Good:7-1-0-1 Dead:6-0-2-1 Slow:1-0-0-0 1st-up:4-1-0-0 2nd-up:3-0-1-1 Won 1600
Tearaway leader over 2600m last start and only wilted in the last 100m, beaten 1.9 lengths in the Higgins at Flemington. Runs over 2400m today.

SHADRACH Murr Brge r 7 n 2
Career:16-1-3-7 $88,130 Dist:2-1-0-1 Good:8-0-2-5 Dead:7-1-1-2 Heavy:1-0-0-0 1st-up:4-0-1-3 2nd-up:4-0-0-2 Won 1400
Has won over the distance and has run two respectable races 1st and 2nd up. 3rd up today, only win was on a dead track. Might be one to use as a banker for 1st, 2nd, 3rd in tri's.

Best of luck to all and have a fine day's investing!

Well Lonhro's sister did the job yesterday at a skinny price. There was also some joy when Status Quo demolished a moderate field paying $5.30. There was no luck with the other runners.

Two at Wyong today:

HALO HALO WYNG. 4 1 TOHATSU OUTBOARDS MDN PLA. 0.0. LONHRO CHURCH ON SUNDAY
Career:10-0-1-1 $7,800 Dist:4-0-0-1 Good:6-0-1-0 Dead:3-0-0-1 Heavy:1-0-0-0 1st-up:3-0-0-0 2nd-up:3-0-1-0
Ten starts now for a second and a third.

BRING YOUR ALIB WYNG. 5 4 HILLMANS CARAVAN REPAIRS. 53.0. I LONHRO MAMZELLE PEDRILLE
Career:1-0-0-0 Dist:1-0-0-0 Dead:1-0-0-0 1st-up:1-0-0-0
Joe Pride trained and Nash Rawiller aboard. Ran 2nd in a trial before its debut. Led that day and then faded on the Warwick Farm track.
