Testarossa, I meant all the hype etc of the overseas visitors. The run wasn't disappointing - the result was for the people who backed him. You are right in regard to the experience and longer distance.
For those who don't know, Fields Of Omagh nearly fell during the race being checked off the heels of The Secondmortgage who was hit over the head twice by Darren Gauci's (riding Freemason) whip at the home turn.
That makes Field's run outstanding as well and accounts for The Secondmortgage's questionable run having such a great position in running and travelling well to the home turn.
But to the victor go the spoils and Northerly won it well.
