The perils of owning a racehorse
Never had a share in a racehorse but have a mate who has shared (normally 1/6) ownership of 5 horses in the past 5 years.
So I hear all about the ups & downs of owning & racing a racehorse (in my mates case mostly downs). Thought I heard it all in terms of the downside until I read recently about the horse (Cleaning Up) that crashed through the outer fence at Belmont the other day, tumbling into the water. The horse swam out to a sandbank, stood there for a while then started the swim back to shore, drowning before reaching it Any thought of ownership that might have been building-up inside has now been totally quashed!
