Very surprised! Thought things were going along slowly but smoothly!

Can't say I'm surprised! Understand all involved gave it their best shot.

Thumbs up Go Jessica!

All the best to Perth apprentice Jessica Hill who will be 1 of 11 lady jockeys from all around Oz doing battle in the Dr Lewinn's Ladies Championship (1533M) at Moonee Valley tomorrow night.

The article I read implied that was the case.

Thumbs down The perils of owning a racehorse

Never had a share in a racehorse but have a mate who has shared (normally 1/6) ownership of 5 horses in the past 5 years.

So I hear all about the ups & downs of owning & racing a racehorse (in my mates case mostly downs).

Thought I heard it all in terms of the downside until I read recently about the horse (Cleaning Up) that crashed through the outer fence at Belmont the other day, tumbling into the water. The horse swam out to a sandbank, stood there for a while then started the swim back to shore, drowning before reaching it

Any thought of ownership that might have been building-up inside has now been totally quashed!

Default Belmont 14 Oct

Race 1 The babies go around
Race 2 Ticking Time looked good winning at her last start
Race 3 Calico Blue unbeaten first up
Race 4 Striken fought on extra well this distance last start
Race 5 Lord Lonsdale a winner of 5 in a row last prep suited by the extra distance
Race 6 Lawbook without the Duck (injured) gets in very nicely after the claim
Race 7 Old Sage looked unlucky WA debut
Race 8 Idyllic Prince looks well placed on the limit
Race 9 Raw Metal should have won at his last start
