Westi, Great Nation ..... good run...... next time maybe? Wild Target a SHOCKER!!, Dr. Diagnosis no luck........ but still a profit waiting do you agree??
PS.Idyllic Prince, I didn't consider, though a system fit of mine i.e 2 cosecutive wins, miss next run then back next two races for level stakes!! boom boom! Last edited by partypooper : 13th November 2006 at 12:00 AM. Reason: omission |

The angst!
I have high regard for Idyllic Prince and waited for this run, but I am lacking confidence and 20 mins before start time I read this thread and saw Dr John and it was from a very successful barrier. I was very worried about the barrier I.P had. Typical of me, within a minute I had talked myself into switching....my 'big' bet of the day and I move it! Oh, the pain listening to the last part of that race! I am such a silly duffer, I did it all day on carnival day, had selected 6 winners and ended up with a losing day! I used to say to myself 'You'll learn, but now I am starting to wonder! LOL |

Great Nation...not a bad run partypooper..expected him to finish a bit closer..Wild Target...they put a stack on..thought Harvey used him up a bit middle stages but still a weak effort...Mr (Dr?) Diagnosis...in retrospect McGruddy should have ridden him back in the field like the jocks did on the 1st & 2nd places...Huge run Marasco!! |

The press report I read re Marasco was that he could be another Northerly! Any thoughts?

Marrasco is very very good. Havent seen yet if he has the heart of northerly(probably impossible to be as gutsy as northerly) as no horse has really got near him of late. Won by 4 1/4 legths untouched on the weekend and there were a few more than handy gallopers in that field.

Was out at Ascot when Marasco ran 5th in the Aquanita Stakes (Feb). From barrier 16 Ikenushi settled him last. He rattled home to finish a couple of lengths behind the winner Scenic Shot. Only Scenic Shot ran a faster last 600. That was only his 3rd race start whilst Scenic Shot was having start 13. Marasco is undefeated since. As to a comparison to Northerly, way too early, but he is obviously above average (at the very least) Last edited by demister jay : 14th November 2006 at 12:59 AM. |

grey matter wrap-up
At Ascot Saturday, Lachino was a non-starter, Starofken saluted, Grasspatch Girl also saluted.
