Smile Results saturday

Only managed the one winner Brookes way at Newcastle which was a huge run.
For those who checked www.insiderail.com/ you were rewarded again with the trifecta in race 7 at Shepparton.

Default C1 races

Brian, I do not follow the trots on a regular basis....however I am curious as to why punters back horses into ridiculous odds from the back line in C1 races. A case in point yesterday was It's Stifflers Mom in R5 at Stawell.

To the novice like me, these large (ish) field C1 races seem to be a lottery, with long shots taking them out regularly...yet old Stifflers was backed well into the red off the back line.

Your comments would be appreciated.

Cheers

Frankster didnt see any races yesterday but my answer would be the horse in question is from the Gath stable or Manning stable and they do tend to dominate at Stawell. If you fancy a horse off the 2nd row in my opinion it is a better draw than wide on the front as at least you can get a trail.
Personal experience tells me the hardest race to win is a class 1 as most horses in are on the job in those classes and young horses 3yos can have won 3 races and still be off the front row .hope this helps.
cheers

Thanks Brian. Now I get it and understand why so many long shots seem to take out the C1 races from the front line.
