Lightbulb Post Your Blackbookers Here

Hi All,

not sure if anyone is interested in a thread like this, but given that we quite often forget other peoples tips / selections or the close 4th of 5th place getters that are tipped, why not place them here with a comment after the days racing. I rarely have the time to review taped races, and can sometimes miss the good mid-week runs. Would be great reference and could take a lot of the workload off those of us who keep individual records, and quick to key into a online blackbook such as the racenet one. We are then alerted by email

Other than thoroughbreds, I especially like to black book on the dogs. I dont know how many times I've backed a dog at $8, it gets checked while charging home, and then wins next start at $30. Of course it will be racing at Dapto race 12 at 11pm and I havent seen it!.

So if your willing to tip, or see a great run, post it here!

For today, I liked:

Ideal Ben:

Should have been in the top two today, but a wet track would be preferred next start also

Matthew's Pick:

Huge run giving the second last runner 5 lengths at start! Beaten a head in the end.

Nobragnow:

won easily as it should of. Was a big top rater and could continue to go through its grades.

Nowayhosai:

made up ground to finish just behind the placegetters. Likely to be double figure odds again next time.

Look forward to seeing some others

Deranged.
travelled well in the run 2 back on the fence..Jockey tried to get alittle wider but was boxed in ..Jock had no choice but to stay along the rail in unsuitable ground..still in it along way down the straight ..only beaten a length..fantastic run..
Fuji Kid.
Alot like the above comment..battled hard along the rail ..finished close up..
only 3rd run back and will be fitter..maybe over alittle more ground will suit nicely..

I thought alot of runs of the winners are a bit flatering ..winners came down the middle or wider all day ..anyone caught to close to the fence had the disadvantage..

Same race as Matthews Pick,

Boys of Summer sweated up badly before the race and was trapped 3 deep the whole way, he was jumping 2 classes and had a big weight, he did a great job to finish less then a length away 3rd, after looking gone around turn.

Default Stix Blackbookers

Vatana - Finished strongly on slow track (Bendigo 11/8 1600m)

Superficial - Needs a touch longer than last start (Taree 9/8 1004m)

Stepping - Flew home along inside, got too far back (E/Farm 13/8 1000m)

Cool

Red Hannigan (1300m Belmont) strong run for 4th on slow track carrying 58kgs in second run up. Will be better for it and prefers a good track and loves the 1300m distance.

Question

Hey Stix, noticed Vatana is racing today in R7 Bendigo...how do you think it will go...I actually have Bodecker blackbooked 'good run Cl 1 1600m slow track' same race as Vatana...S Vella has the ride on Bodecker this time around.

Both ran today. Decided to back Matthew's pick as it was running over same distance and in same class in the last at Benalla today. Many thanks Tarbs.

Default Wednesday 14/9

ADIOS DAPPER GAWLER R6 No.5 (1600m)
Flew home 2 starts ago @ $36 from wide barrier, dissapointing last start 7th in barrier 2, again in 2 this time so maybe would prefer wider (ran 2nd @ Chelt in Jul form Barr 16), still should be nice odds

DREAM BALLAD NEWCASTLE R8 No.8 (1600m)
My bb comments "Goul 2/9 bolted home - awsome turn of foot @ 200m put 4lngths on them inside 50m"

CONSULAR NEWCASTLE R7 No.1 (1400m)
Won last well start and has won 2 of last 4, racing well loves the distsance, drops 5.5kg and has Byrne again.

LA REDOUTE NEWCASTLE R6 No.9 (1400m)
My bb comments were"Brained them in last @ Pt Macquarie (29.08) Follow her all the way !"

KIM PAULINI BELMONT R2 No.4 (1000m)
First Starter ran 3rd recent trial, 4lnghts... bit of a speculation

DOUBLE BAY BELMONT R8 No.10 (1300m)
Was checked 2 starts back when fav, duly salured last start, not best record at Belmont, but has nice ally and 3.5kg weight drop

SPORTIVO BELMONT R2 No.1 (1000m)
Fantasy Stable Hose...so just a specy

LINDHOLME DOOMBEN R7 No.3 (1650m)
Charged home for 3rd at Ipswich on 2/9, extra distance will suit

MANILLA BOY DOOMBEN R3 No.2 (1350m)
Manilla Boy has yet to win a race, having been placed five times in Brisbane city races, including Listed company. If ever this 3YO is going to win a race it will be next start.....??

OCTOBER GREY DOOMBEN R8 No.6 (1200m)
Has two 2nds from two starts, is drawn wide, but has Cahill this time

MATRAS SANDOWNHILLSID R7 No.8 (1600m)
Looking at the better races this spring, was not overly impressive las start so, must go close this time. Drawn wide, but has drawn wide twice previously, so no real concern

VATANA SANDOWNHILLSID R4 No.12 (1800m)
Ran @ Bendigo 11.08.05 - finished well very close, is consistent and has been taken to town. Has S King, drawn well... should be nice E/Way odds
