Default Bayesian Inferencing Systems

I hope it's not against the rules to link to another forum...

Anyroad, I stumbled upon the following thread:
http://www.flatstats.co.uk/ppp/viewtopic.php?t=1831

I know it's old, but I found it interesting anyway and thought I might share.

Cheers

Thumbs up

Jazzy you could drown in all the different permutations that make up a horse race

I've a copy of the Punters Revenge that I thumb through occasionally. It's showing it's age a bit.

It's here also. Not sure if it's the whole thing.

"Punters Revenge..."

Pretty sure CXWONG discusses likelihood ratios in this pretty useful book

"Precision: Statistical and Mathematical Methods in Horse Racing"

The following is a thought provoking book also. It makes me smile when pundits tell you that you can't win by following the crowd.

"The Wisdom of Crowds"

All good stuff for your racing library.

When people try to employ this stuff, they generally become confused as to what edge they are trying to create, is it a wagering edge or a handicapping edge? Either is tackled from a different perspective.

I assume by handicapping edge you mean strike rate and by wagering edge you mean POT ?

Yes had it on the Kindle since last year. At some places the translation from Cantonese is a bit like its been done by Google Translator or something but the content very interesting. Some useful spreadsheets for download also.
