RaceCensus technical help
Hi All
Quick queries for Chrome or someone who knows their way around the RaceCensus database. How do I search using more than one item in a field eg: If I want to search for all races run at Doomben and also at Eagle Farm what do I enter in the "Track" field? Also keen to know how I can search for (say) all races at Doomben excluding 2yo races - ie: is there a "not equal to" sign that can be used in the database? Thanks in advance Sparky |

Sparky,
Sorry for the late reply, I've been battling with a health issue recently. There are two ways to search for Doomben and Eagle Farm. The easiest is to put B in the State box for Brisbane and this will return only Eagle Farm and Doomben tracks. Otherwise in the track field put Doomben, then select Requests from the very top menu bar, and then Duplicate request. Now replace Doomben with Eagle Farm on the second request and hit the search button. This will also return all relevant records for both Doomben and Eagle Farm. Just remember that you are dealing with multiple requests, so if you modify one page for some reason, you need to also modify the second page. You can toggle between requests by clicking the white notepad on the left hand sidebar that has Requests under it. There are also two ways of excluding 2yo races. Firstly in the age field (just above the sex field), input >2 for greater than 2yo. OR Requests => Duplicate Request Now input 2 in the age field and tick the Omit tickbox on the left sidemenu. This will search for all but 2yo's. The Omit tickbox is useful for omitting words or numbers from searches. I hope this helps, as soon as I'm up to it, I'm going to redesign the database and write a more comprehensive help file, but this should keep you going in the meantime. If I were a horse, I think they'd shoot me about now
