Default facebook help

When I type in a letter in the search facility on facebook; everyone that I have searched for in the past with that first letter is listed even though I have "cleared all searches) does anyone know how I can delete ALL history. I've tried googling but they just keep saying how to "clear searches" when I already know how to do that. any help appreciated.

Click the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of Facebook, and head to Activity Log. from there, click the "More" button in the left sidebar to reveal the "Search" option. Click on it to view your search history. If you want to erase it, there's a button in the upper right-hand corner to do just that.

I am guessing you have done this?

Shaun, b4 trying this , I suspect that it is the same as "clearing all searches" i.e yes it does, BUT when you type in a letter (let's say R) you immediately get a list of all previous searches that began with the letter "R".... and in my case the letter "R" is pointedly significant, without going into details!!!

What I want to do is erase "EVERYTHING" from that search engine, like everything you have ever searched!

Everyone! If you are worried about things & people still showing up in the search bar even after you have deleted the search history (I have been through this and it is so annoying!) there is a solution. Change the language so if you are in the UK change to US English (and vice versa) and then wait 24 hrs and it will automatically clear the search bar suggestions and history when you type in it!

I have also read if you go to settings>general settings>deactivate account and then reactivate your account by logging back in it will clear the search bar history, i can't test this as i am the sole admin of a group.
