Reported in the press this morning that WA trainer Steve Wolfe's appeal against a 12-month ban over the fall of Savage Cabbage will go ahead next Monday.

Stewards originally banned Wolfe for 2 years for treating Savage Cabbage with the anti-inflammatory drug Phenylbutazone before the horse broke a leg and fell in a barrier trial at Belmont Park on October 28, 2002. The ban was later reduced to 1 year.

William Pike returns from suspension on Saturday. Already booked to ride Reward, Diffraction, Stir Pak & Moss Minster.
