Thumbs down Flagged

I have just been flagged by XXXXXX for plaving a $12000 bet on a 4 leg multi bet on the MBL, which by the way won and now they are refusing to pay. They say I'm a pro which I'm not. I'm just a ballter who needs the money for medical treatment.

Edited. The bookmaker cannot be publicly identified here as the post may then be defamatory. Moderator 3.

That can be a problem with on-line betting sites [they can dispute bets]. Most pros. use bookies [when they can] or the TAB. All bet calls to a bookie are recorded and can't be fiddled with as are TAB calls. At least you can win as much as you like with the TAB. Shorter prices sure, but only on the shorties.

I'd be surprised if any pros. use on-line sites. Besides, the site would quickly get rid of them by restricting their bets to pennies or just cancel their accounts.

Its too bad those chaps at XXXXX aren't pros.

Interesting to hear that sort of gaul said in a court of law.
Pro or no pro, if they are willing to cop the benefit if the bet goes their way, it would also be reasonable to assume the responsibility if it goes against them.

Unless they told you they weren't going to pay on bets they don't feel like paying & is in writing , but that would not be a bet, would it?

Contact the bookmakers association , failing that the Ombudsman &
A Current Affair & newspapers , they love this sort of thing.

I bet Kerry always got paid.

I never heard of "flagged".

Bhagwan has given you some good suggestions. Sorry to hear you have not been paid on a winning bet. Without very specific full details, which really requires a full time investigative journalist to examine, we are not really in a position to publish the name of the bookmaker. For example, before publishing such accusations the full time investigative journalist would need to contact the bookmaker with very specific full details provided by you to also obtain the bookmaker's version of events.

Like most on-line sites, XXXX ..."is fully regulated by the Northern Territory Racing and Gaming commission."

So if you have a complaint, you must contact: gamblingdisputes@nt.gov.au
