I was almost swamped by the deluge of information on the Internet suggesting that SALE Greyounds was to be abandoned.

And just as I was getting my breath back , and drying myself off , yet again was I swamped by a further deluge of information explaining the reason as to cause of the abandonement.

Well it seems the deluge affecting me was insignificant compared to the deluge at SALE.

I managed to find some belated explanation after some major detective work.

Stewards inspected the track at 5:25pm after torrential rain during kennelling time caused several track washouts down to road base. After consultation with Track Maintenance Staff and Manager Mr. D. Dooley, Stewards abandoned the meeting at 5:35pm.

It shouldn't have to be that complicated and difficult to obtain.
