With Fields of Omagh at the ridiculous price of 8-5, my money will go on Universal Prince (whom I also have, along with Rain Gauge and Fields of Omagh in doubles, placed a couple of weeks ago when decent prices were available). Enjoy the day all.

Good punting all
Cheers
Cosmo

gday all
lots of good discussion bout this great race
what i cant wait for is around the 600m mark where northerly has been sittin one off the fence back in 7th or 8th and he takes off round them and hits the front coming into the straight, cos this is where we see the champion at his best. i know he has to concede some weight to some horses he has beaten in the past few weeks, but northerly has the biggest will to win out of any horse in this race, no horse wants to be in front more than this champ, and thats why it doesnt matter what the other horses are carrying, or what weight northerly has, he wont let them past him, thats why i believe he will win
cheers

I think some congratulations are in order... To Rain Lover for splitting the chicken, and schmucta80 for his sharing his preminition. To osulldj for his excellent reveiw, and Sandgroper for never swaying. To Intuitive for covering both ends of the field, and to loadandlockett for posting the winner a month ago! Good on you all... You take the prize.....

Yes congratulations go to all those who never doubted the champ could carry the weight, run the distance and win.

DISAPPOINTMENTS

Beekeeper
The Secondmortgage - (What the hell happened? Had a beautiful position and then stopped as if shot in the straight.)
Helene Vitality
Pentastic
Universal Prince

LOST NO ADMIRERS
Fields Of Omagh (Brilliant run beaten by a champ).
Republic Lass (After being disappointing last few runs, showed signs of old form.)

Sorry EI don't agree with your assesment of Beekeeper being dissapointing watch the race again and watch him fly home at the end together with Rain Gauge on his outside , they are both crying out for 3200m.

Yes, I would have to agree Testa, haven't seen the race yet as was OS, but in listening to the audio over and over, Beekeeper didn't sound over impressive, But reading the reports in the Sunday age, it seems everyone else was happy with the run. The Headline read, "Beekeeper abuzz with late run", and Goldophin's foremann saying, "We are absolutely delighted", "The best part is that he has had a race"...refering to the relative inexperience of Beekeeper, having only his eigth carreer start, beaten only 1.9 lengths. Rain Gauge only 2 lengths away also, and ran on strong. Thought Distictly Secret was the run, with 3200 in mind, and Grey Song did impress. I see Gai wants to persist with Platinum Sissors in the M/C. Recons he is as good if not better than Nothin Leica Dane, and reports he could be the best 3yo she has had! Now that's a big call... But he was super impressive, and will be hard to beat in the Derby, and if he wins, she wants to start him in the Cup! Of course, the owners may have other ideas.
