Obviously the winter months are unreliable using form analysis due partly to lot's of the good horses being spelled and poor track conditions each week. Does anyone know from their past experience, what month it starts to improve? Also when do the carnivals begin, anyone know where I may find a calendar online?
Thanks

Dear Fatboy

Hopefully I have some medicine to help you get thru the winter months.

As the tracks get more rain effected then the importance of a quality jockey aboard increases. Following the leading jokeys and you will back more winners.

You have to be prepaired to accept shorter prices.

Good Luck and good punting

Michael is certainly right about the leading jockeys.
But I suggest you also be very careful about horses that do not have good wet track form.
Horses up in the weights, no matter who the jockey, also often struggle.
These tips are straight from the horse's mouth.

Thanks Guys for your input. I have been watching for a runner with the best track record and also noticing weight reduction together with a capable jockey in the top 10.
The latest pro pun newsletter was interesing in it's jockey article and also it's list of runners last Sat who had bad luck, 50% of them were my selections, would have been interesting if Neil had placed his comments on why they had the poor runs. On the issue of weight, yesterday Wed31st in Sydney race 7, No 1 Kwila was 8.5kg up on it's last run placing 6/16. At 60.5kg I thought it had no show on a heavy track, it was $3.10 fav and won. The second placgetter, couldn't pronounce it's name was paying $78 win and paid $11.10 place, had no form and I rated it last. go figure?
