Default Handling Losing

I , and another member have confessed that they are not travelling too well at the minute.
The other member seems somewhat frustrated as to why this is happening.
And some angst about what should be an enjoyable activity appears to be occurring.

I figure this thread could be used for some pointers for members to guide other members.

The best thing I ever read was , "If it's no longer fun - WALK AWAY"
For me , being a Gamblerholic , this is not an option.

But what sometimes works for me , is to try to understand what it is that is actually causing the pain.
And in my case whenever it is caused by the size of my Losses , then it is usually caused by betting excessively high.Out of my Comfort Factor.

But usually my pain is when i do a heap of hard work and study , and the animals fail continually.
Being shown that I am wrong messes with my Pride.
I feel I am a failure.
Going over my methods often reveals that I have done everything correctly , and it is frustrating not knowing what is wrong.

Losing Runs happen , and we all must be able to cope with them.
But if the Losing Run is because there is a basic flaw in our procedures , then no amount of walking away will get rid of the problem when we finally decide to return.

Chin up Star.

I'm the same. Somewhere along the line I turned into compulsive gambler. If I don't have at least a dozen bets on Saturday, I would file like I'm not really gambling at all. And I won't even mention the $2 bets on roughies I have throughout the day - i don't keep track of those for obvious reasons.

I remember in the early-mid 90's i used to have 2 bets on a Saturday.

Saturday races means so much to me that if I have a losing day with my main bets i feel crushed.

My systems have been really doing it tough since July as well. But nothing hurts as much as when one of my lays wins.

Is this because you need to pay out a significant amount of money?

I can't understand why Punters risk $100 to win my $5 on a 20 to 1 shot.
A hundred bucks will kepp me going for a long time , but what is $5 gonna do - a happy meal? - WOW!

Perhaps raven , you need to only Lay animals at Odds on or under say $3.
Then you don't have to lay them for a Huge amount to collect a reasonable amount.

That, and I have unequivocally been proven wrong.

I have noticed my price range has been creeping up this year, and I want to make a concious effort to lay faves when i can.

Good thinking Raven as Favs lose between 67 - 72 %. A huge advantage for the laying punter.
