Default My 1000 Bet Lay Test.

I thought I would have a go at testing an idea i've had for some time during my end of year break.

There are only two steps to finding the lays.
One i'll keep to myself.
The other is using R&S worksheet odds but not in a set way.
I have followed horse racing since the early eighties so there is a degree of 'gut feeling' applied with my use of the R&S odds but it is done consistently.
Just as a financial analyst would apply his/her experience to share trades and not only use data spat from within his/her computer.

Firstly I am surprised by how quickly I got to 1000 lays. Just nineteen days.

I do not have a database or any system developing software.

I did actually bet each and every one of these (for minuscule amounts).

This is how things fared.

Total bets - 1007
Successful Lays - 937
Mishaps - 70
Lay SR - 93%

ROI - 0.86% adjusted to include 6.5% commission

Broken down....
$1.01 - $10.00......Lays-319....+ $75.42 if layed at $1.
$10.01 - $30.00....Lays-458....+ $69.84 if layed at $1.
$30.01 - $100......Lays-230.....+ $36.50 if layed at $1.

Average Lay price - $21.93
Average Mishap price - $11

Shortest price layed - $1.56
Longest Price layed - $100

$100 bank with $1 lays at level stakes = $281.76

So, do these figures seem good, bad or otherwise?
All feedback most welcome.

Those figures seem very good to me.

I know you said you were using minuscule stakes however are you laying level stakes or to a set liability as a big mistake at level stakes could be very costly?

Thanks The Ocho,
The minuscule amounts have been layed as a set liability of 5% of the bank.

If the bank is $20 at the start of the days betting then the set liability for each of that days lays is $1.

Hi Luxinterior,

What agency are you betting with? Doesn't Betfair have a minimum of $5 bets?

You can bet less than the minimum with a bot or software - until they tell you off and then ban you.
