Default System that works on Melbourne Metro Racing Only

I have a system with 8 simple rules that produces 36% POT for Melbourne Metro races only over a 7 year period.

Would you see this as a big negative that it works only in Melbounre and not in other states.

For The record:
WA (13%)
SA (17%)
VIC 36%
NSW (25%)
QLD (12%)

Last year was the first year I used real $$$ and returned the following stats:

Sel 112 Win 16 Plc 48 POT 65% (Win) 14% (Plc)

Hi Stix,

Am I reading this wrong, but it appears to work in every State, just better in Melbourne?

Don't think it is a negative as long as you only bet in Melb. Nothing negative about winning. The Question I would be asking (yourself) is why only in Melb.
Good luck with it.

nah, this raises something that's been worrying me for a while, I have 2 place plans doing VERY well for 4 years and a win plan doing good for 2 years, in PERTH only,......... when I try to implement these plans to Eastern States racing, they come up negative, yet continue to thrive in WA.

How can this be, if a plan is correct it should be correct across the board, shouldn't it?

Party,

Not necessarily, I mentioned, on this forum a couple of years back, that I have this very problem, and nobody had an answer, including me.

There are a few tracks where my rating simply will not work.
Perth and Sydney, are some of them, actually. And yet the rest of the WA tracks are behaving as all the other winning tracks.
The easiest thing is to leave them alone, until you find a solution, or leave them alone permanent!
Good luck with it!

I think there is a very good reason for this. Check out the race times in WA. A very high % of races are truly run [within 2 sec of race records], the exact opposite to what's happening in the East. Form statistics become far more meaningful in truly run races and thats a big bonus for good systems and handicapping methods generally [It also explains why more favorites get up in WA than anywhere else].
When we see a blanket finish we are looking at a race that isn't being truly run. What do we see in the East? Constant blanket finishes!

It could be the makeup of trainers and bloodstock racing in the area, or track types.

As far as Perth racing goes, well you have a relatively small pool of horses that race eachother week in week out.
There are not that many ring ins or surprises, only a poor form horse coming back into form.
Therefore the top rated horses will dominate the horses they've been beating for some time.

Agreed. It's a fairly closed system as is Darwin and to a lesser extent Tassie.

Hi Chrome

All negative POT except VIC racing......... I'm comfortable with the profitability in VIC only, as this is where I mainly bet (and live) anyway..... Just curious if anyone else had had the same occur, or if there are any negatives people can see or experienced.
