Thought that the run of universal prince in sydney Warwick Stakes was probably the best with potential runs in mind. Given his level of race maturity as opposed to his rivals, Tie the knot and Shogun Lodge it was a pretty good run and definatley worth an early look at the odds for the cups etc. He ran on very well under no pressure.

I thought the first up run of Shogu Lodge was very good. But the price on offer was very poor.
Re early Cups betting:
You do your money cold if your horse does not start. Treat the price you get as an all up bet comprising two bets.
1.You are betting your horse gets a run.
2.If that bet wins, (your horse gets a run!) it is all up on your horse winning.
That makes many of those prepost bets look like rather ordinary odds.
Have a look at the percentages bet. Massively over 100%. That must tell us something.

Thanks Mr Logic. I take on board what you say but I will be having a little (very Little) on the horse now at reasonable odds given that I think his future performances will knock his price around a fair bit come Melb, Caulf or Cox plate day.
