I just think if you have that working job that turns over x amount of dollars, tuck some money into a share portfolio and earn x amount. Buy yourself a investment property and watch some capital growth.

Punting is one element that takes some much time and effort for very little return. So why do we do it. Its the challenge I believe. Such a small gold mine but many still bring there pans hoping to find that edge.

I often start to forget about the enjoyment of the sport and the races themselves and treat it like exchange of rises and falls, with the knowledge of trying to buy at the right time.
