Most punters can pick one winner out of an 8-9 race program at a given track.
Where the wheels fall off , is that they bet as though they are going to hit 8 winners at that venue & end up losing. You cant bet like a machine gun, & hope to win long term. Generally, its more profitable to bet more like a sniper. Hit your mark & move on. One idea, in profitable punting, is to seize those small windows of opportunity, so as to etch out a profit & that is, stop at a winner at that track then do the same for all the other remaining venues. 10 venues - 10 winners. That's the general idea, anyway. SELECTION PLAN 1)Target the tipster (LHS) on TABQ They have a very good SR 2)Target their 2nd & 3rd selection. These have some good prices about them. 3)Separate the 2 horses by taking the lower price of the 2, as shown by TABQ Fixed Price market. These are sort of bookmaker prices & usually based around form of some kind. If a draw, use the TAB live price. This price-market tends to bounce around a lot more, but is fine for this process. Must be $3.00+ 4) Delete any of the 2 horses that are less than <$3.00 on Fixed Price, then automatically bet the other. We want $3.00+ selections This will pick a winner, per venue, paying $3.00+Div, most of the time. Don't fall for the trap of thinking you are going to pick a pile of winners at that one venue, because most times you wont. But you will be able to pick one winner per venue, most of the time and that's the objective and that's the edge your looking for, to try and be successful, long term. STAKING There are going to be fist fights & death threats over what I'm going to reveal here, so each their own. Bets go in sequences of 9 bets. If no winner on 9th bet, start again win another sequence of 9 ect. 1,1,1,2,3,5,9,15,25 = 62 units Have 6 Banks of 62 = 372 Need min $2.50 div. to break even on last bet. We only bet $3.00+ horses. 6 banks of 9 bets = 54 bets We bet across the card, not down the card. eg. one bank for each venue. Betting race No. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 at that venue It is deliberately aggressive to make up for the shortfalls of the banks that may have fallen over. Eg. Lets say you struck 54 losing bets in a row, then hit $14.90 winner on the last 25unit bet of the 6 banks of 62units Ret 372 units. Break even situation and maybe an extreme example, but it does illustrate its potential and yes, the selection plan has hit winners in that price range, especially if there is an odds on fav in the field. Yes, we do bet where there is an odds-on fav in the race. With this plan, you only have to be smart 1 in 9 races. (If 9 races at the venue.) Give it a dry run first, on past results and maybe report your findings.
