No one has mentioned Wild Iris in their thoughts here. Her win in The Sydney Oaks was unbelievable. I know that faves in early markets dont win often in CAU/ MELB CUPS as something always seems to go wrong but this horse may be as good as the other uprising star, STARCRAFT. His winner slipper day was so exciting , and iv'e never seen a horse pick up other good horses so quickly. If he has improved at all he is probly the best horse in Australia.
I think all of Mr Ed's comments regarding the cox plate and BRAELOCH make a lot of sense. Also Sound Action looks value at $26

Soecial harmony wont run 2400m. The cox plate is her go but I dont like her much in that either.

agree with most of that Umrun ..except for Aint Seen Nothin who i think did enormous last spring after a long campaign..
Grey Song if he gets conditions to suit could be a chance,,He seems as though he's been around for years but i think hes only 6 now...one year older than Makybe Diva and Aint seen Nothin..
He ran a huge Caulfield last year ...and was on the 2nd or 3rd line in the melb Cup..

I have a soft spot for him because he's always there about and gives 200% in his races..

Of the males think Elvstroem is a chance & dont envisage getting anywhere near $18 on the day,so am backing it now.Was a costly horse for me last time in so it owes me.Was a good run first up,so I'm kinda hoping it's come up this time in with a bit of maturity on it's side.

As for Special Harmony not running 2400 can't agree.Didn't she win the VRC Oaks over that trip in a canter?I still believe she would have won the Oaks in Sydney,why Lee decided to take on the males in the Derby still astounds me!She is a better proposition in Melbourne to me,and racing the males in the Caulfield Cup is a much better go than it was in the Derby.My thoughts only.

Don't Zagalia and Wild Iris look well prepared for the cups after their great runs yesterday!
