I had a bad feeling about today and it is staying that way right now Oaks day has never been a good day for me I think the only year i got much out of it was the year Makybe won her 1st cup and Carnegie Pops won at over 40-1 on Oaks day other than that I have scratched hard for winner for the most part.

Unbelievable I had a bit e/w on Gallant Tess, Rendzina, Fuji Fantasy & Rena's Lady and the last 3 finish within a length of placing very frustrating was really pulling for Callow to get home for 3rd at the $26 place divi it was paying.

Silly idea to tip two horses in the same race. (In both races, my 3rd tip got up and won) That was the same tactic I used one other day when I had a shocker. Oh well, I'll know next time, won't I? :(

Nearly have to say sorry Panther but lets face it we were both awful my 2 good wins for the day I didn't have in my Tips they were Chadonne and Prend thanks to those 2 I have had a great day would have been huge if Mustard could have poked that nose of his out.

So Sportz what happens in the event of a tie between you and Umrum looks like it has been a tough day for all of us.

Well I knew if I went back and had a look at it I would find out what happened in the event of a draw unfortunately for Sportz anyway I think if I have read the rules properly that Umrum is through regardless of what happens in this race because the only placings you guys had were both in the feature race and were both the same horse which basically means it goes back to total points and Umrum has us all beaten there off memory

No, the most points rule actually referred to today's selections (applying 3,2,1 points to each of the selections).

The tiebreaker rules were:
Best finish in feature race (we're level on that)
Best result during the day (we're still level)
Most points on a 3,2,1 basis during the day (if Vintack simply runs a placing, umrum will win)

I didn't think we'd need any further tiebreaker rules than that, but I'm going to add one here. If Vintrack doesn't run a place, then I am going to award the win to umrum anyway, because I had one extra tip. I think that's only fair.

Well, Vintrack didn't manage a place. Fair dinkum, I can't believe that 4 tipsters who had all been going pretty well recently could all have such a shocker on the same day!!! I'm disappointed that I couldn't manage more than 28 points with 6 tips! It just shows how much of a certainty Gold Edition was. Even we couldn't stop her today!

Anyway, as I said, although umrum and myself ended up dead level, I'm going to award umrum the win, on the basis that he had one less tip than me.

Well all I can say is bad luck to Sportz and Panther you guys have been great all the way through the comp I have pretty much just snuck up in this thing not really being a high seed.

It was an awful days betting so hard to get anything up unless you were either happy to take something real short or something completely out of left field that was what it felt like to me was happy to just post a win for the day personally but even that only came in my last 3 bets of the day in Chandonne, Flion Fenea & Prend (was ecstatic to get Prend home she owes me plenty thankfully nothing anymore)


I'll get in early and say good luck for saturday Umrum hopefully we can both put up some big points for a good final I personally can't believe I got this far got lucky when Timboon fell short on Cup day.

Yeah, it would certainly have been better if the preliminary finals had been won more decisively or if we had all tipped better today. But that's the way it goes. Bad luck to Panther who finished on top of the table. Personally, I have nobody but myself to blame for my poor performance today. I went away from the stategy that had been so successful for me over the past 14 weeks, and tipped differently today. Dumb move.

At this stage, Raw is still well in front 176-0 thanks to Brom Felinity. He's got two tips left, while umrum has 4 tips left.

Umrum has the following bets left. Perth 6-1, 7-2 & 7-11. If one of those wins, Umrum will probably go close to winning the comp. If not, it's Raw Instinct's title.
