I see they have entered him for a Group 2 this weekend.

Has anyone got any information on trials or what he has done since recovering from injury last spring.

I know he had a track gallop 2 weeks ago during races at Randwick, has anything been said about how he is going?

I take it from all the responses at once we are all in the same boat. Will be unknown just how well or poor he is travelling when he goes round this weekend i think.

LOL, sorry mate. I googled him yesterday when i first read this, but found nothing of interest.

Well he has opened at $10 for the winning edge over 1400m. Mentality is $1.60 so i guess that inflates his price a bit.

I will be very interested in any moves prior to race day.

Heard interviews with the owner last week and the trainer this week and he hasn't trialled at all, instead he had that track gallop and will follow the same path as last autumn ,only missing the 1200m race last week.

Eremein,

I'm supprised at this disscusion... Of course he'll win.. he's a class horse...

And class will win every time...

Of course if you really want to win on the race don't bet at all.... A famous race caller once said, not backing a loser is the same as backing a winner at even money... So don't bet and be better off..

Sure you'll miss this one but you can win just as much on a maiden when you're sure they are going to win..

Bet wise, not with your heart..

Regards

I know i'd much rather back a winner at even money than no bet at all. Hell,
i'd back a 1.30 winner over no bet....

Save your money Oz. Eremein doesn't usually win first-up. But hopefully he runs home well after the injury layoff. Mentality and Fashions Afield should have the fitness edge over this lot.

Good thing I didn't bet on the race so my $50,000 is still safe in my pocket.. (see previous posts)

What about Eremein's run though, are we in for an exciting few weeks coming up or what?

Did bet on Bromide though, my only bet for the day except for a little on Silky Red Boxer and look at Beadman go, Thought he was out of form with all those recent seconds but wow... He's back... 101 and counting

Simple plan for winning on the GG's... Back winners... Like Hawkes, Beadman, Parr, Tye and Gai...

Can't get over how I predicted Desert Wars run and didn't back it...

Ah well.. There's more next week..

Regards All

Dear Horse Whisperer,

I don't know at what level of interest in horse racing is but I trust you're not doing it to willingly loose your money...

So my tip is, if you're not doing it already, to get some sort of database system or even a note-book and set a page for each worthwhile horse... There were a number of them yesterday, and sit down and watch the replays or listen to the audio over and over.. Till you have a note about the performance of EVERY runner... I am a computer programmer so databases are easy for me and I write my own assesment programs...

Then when you're assessing the race before the meeting read your notes on every runner and you'll have a pretty good picture of how the race will turn out... (try it, it really only takes about 4-6 hours per meeting)

I have a big red flag in my program that jumps up with a note saying something like "Desert War likes to run to the lead fresh and when out in front can maintain a pace that runs even champions off their feet, Lookout"

The next step is to heed your own advice, which is something I'm mad about but hey, I've only been learning for 20+ years...

You'll find most true professionals do a similar sort of thing some go so far as to also rate trainers and jockeys and try to work out the logic of their strategies..

I'll add that Gai often uses this "run to the front and go like the clappers" tactic when her horses are up against other quailty runners..(you just have to know which horses are capable of doing that)

I think she teaches them how to do that.

Kind Regards and Punt smart...

OzPunter..
(Never Buy a Tip)

P.S. Desert War did this twice in each of his last two preperations, so expect another but not at $10.00

I think Horse Whisperer has been around the traps for awhile OzPunter, In fact I'm pretty sure he's been on both sides of them .....Punter and Country Bookie !
