trying some more roughies thursday night at Kilmore
2/3 Brushgrove queen. This horse will someday run up to its potential and trial form and win,has loads of ability but finds a way to get beaten eg gallops interference .Tonight maybe the night nice draw and could lead if does will take some beating.
3/9 Tommy devitto same stable as brushgrove queen its form is not real flash but trialed well on home track kilmore recently so could improve at a good price.
4/6 Touch me toes.Bit dissapointing last start but will be fitter and was well backed last week good chance
Lets hope our luck continues.

Paddy dont really follow Nsw harness and the system i use doesnt cater to well for metro harness,in saying that Elsu is a speed machine and Sokoyola trialed the other day at Kilmore so would probably favor those two.
cheers

Thanks for that a4brianp. Might just box Elsu, Sokoyola & Roman Gladiator in the multiples. Hope you strike oil tonight. Cheers.

I have been doing this system for the best part of 20 years, but really only upgraded since i learnt to use a computer and a friend made me a program which has made it much easier.
The system is very simple really only involves horses that have won a trial at a registered club and have run better than 2.4 mile rate, i then give them 3 starts or a month to win.
The biggest problem i have is accessing trial results as only 2 clubs actually send me them Bendigo and Kilmore do other clubs such as Geelong and Ballarat refuse to also Cranbourne who do at least have a website as does Marybourgh.
The current run is probably a result of tightening up qualifying conditions on my system just hope it keeps going.
thanks i will have a beer.

Brian, what do you do when you have 2 or 3 selections in a race???
a4brianp
13th December 2004, 09:26 AM
When i have more than one selection in race i actually back them all each way but do have more on the one that i favour usually based on form or time that it has run in trials.I also quinella them and now with the any 2 couple them in that.If you read my posts closely you should be able to pick out the horse i favour in a race.
eg in race 2 i have 2 selections but favour the 2 in race 8 i have 2 selections and dont really fancy either so will back them both eachway.
Hope this helps cheers

Well done with Macray Purple. Good tip Brian.
Geez, I'm a terrible punter. Despite a win return of more than $16 from your 6 selections, I've managed to basically just break even. That's because I put a whole host of quinellas, any 2s, all-ups and other silly bets on. I also had a smaller bet on Macray Purple, because I thought it looked like it didn't have as much chance as some of the others. :(

Kenny Karalta was favourite but only finished 3rd of 5 and of course no third dividend. Plough Rulze finished 3rd ($1.90). Ric Flair was unplaced in R4. Unfortunately, Seymour was narrowly beaten in a photo and paid $3.20 for the place. It was paying $17.40 for the win. That would have been nice. Magic Jaccka did exactly as it did on Wednesday night. It set a ridiculous pace and got out to a huge lead but it stopped as if shot. The favourite won that race.

I was too late and missed it.
Brian, here's something you might want to think about. If you're confident that your horse can run a place at fair odds, you could perhaps think about an 'any2' bet with your horse as banker from the field. Then if your horse does run a place and a roughie comes home in the placings, it can be quite nice. It would have cost just $4.50 (50c unit) to do that in R1 and you would have got back $115.70. Of course, there are plenty of races where favs run 1-2-3 too, but if you're confident of your horse running a place, it's certainly an idea worth looking at.

Duets shifted out a touch in the straight opening a gap for Mont Denver Gold along the pegs but then he shifts back in and the locked wheels with about 50 metres to go so Mont Denver Gold got the race on protest from what I could see he got it fairly.
On another note was great to see Flashing Red get a big win there in Ballarat kast night and even better was the odds he has been in great form yet he is constantly going out at good odds I would seriously doubt that the same thing will happen in the Hunter Cup though would surprised to see him better than 7-1.
