$100 a Day Sudden Death Competition

MONDAY 6/11/06 to SATURDAY 30/12/06

Thought I might start another comp. for all the well dressed punters with nowhere to go who have been ruled out of the other comp. [ me :-) ] and anyone else interested including those still in Sportz's comp.

The rules are short and sweet:

1. $100 a day allowance to bet with from Monday to Saturday at any TAB meeting [includes dogs and Trotters].

2. No Sunday bets or allowance. [Totals for the week go up on Sunday].

3. All bets no smaller than $20 for the win or place.

3. You can bet one day a week or up to six days a week.

EG: You could have no bets until next Sat. and have a full $600 to bet with or wait until Tues. Cup day for instance and have $200 to bet with or next Thursday and have $400 to bet with [Bet on days that suit you].

4. Minimum bet amount on a bet day must be no less than $100 on 1 to 5 bets.

5. Every Monday is a fresh week, so use or lose any money accumulated from the week before.

6. $100 daily bet amount starts MONDAY 6th. of November and accumulates to $600 on Saturday 11th. Nov.

7. At the end of the comp. on SATURDAY 30/12/06 the punter with the highest $ total wins.

Everyone is welcome to join the comp. on any day during the comp. period [you could join next Wed. and have $300 to bet with or even next Sat. and have $600 to bet with or start Monday 6th. and bet with $100 or $200 on Cup day].

So on that note, I'll be having some bets tomorrow [$100] to kick this off, which will give me $100 to bet with on Cup Day. I might just plonk $50w on each on the two JP. horses in the Cup I think.

*Remember, you can bet one day a week [$600 all on 1 bet if you have accumilated that much] or up to six days a week and to ease the job of doing the weekly totals, lets make the bet amounts multiples of $10 [min. bet $20]. Thanks.

Sorry about this, but I've been Looking at the Calender and it might be better to have MONDAYS as the no bet day as Sunday 31st. is New Years Day and a good bet day.
Also Sundays generally are a better bet day than Mondays. So Mondays will be result day and the comp will start on Tuesday Cup Day 7/11/06

*The highest scorer each Monday will receive a special bonus bet of $50 to make things a bit more interesting.

The final winning result will be posted on Mon. 1/1/07

After listening to the ********** Jock in an interview, you might not be far wrong there mav.
He rates the horse a serious class above Vintage Crop.
The only possible problem seems to be pace [Yeats is an on-pacer]. If something doesn't put the pace on [sacrifice itself out front] to make the race more truly run, Yeats might have a lot of trouble winning this.

Nope, rule 7 hasn't been added to the rules. It used to be rule 6 [ it's in the original rules reprinted in post 154] . I just swapped the places of the original rules 6 and 7, so the original rule 7 [now numbered 6] is more likely to seen and read in context of the original rule 5 causing all the trouble and confusion. Anyway, somthing like that!

I only assumed id get an extra $100 purely because I am special. But as Mr Ed pointed out, clearly I am not above the rules. I just hope Scuderia doesn't get up and win (well for the sake of the comp).

The Brake and I were supposed to be heading off in the 4b this morning for 4 days camping up in the High country above Orbost [70ks up the Pacific Hwy. from here].
However, looking up there into the high tops from our backyard this morning, it's a swirling mass of dank darkness around the mountains and blowing a gale!
No rain [yet] here but it will be in the Up country, but according to the weather maps it's should be clearing into fine weather by tomorrow so we might get away this. arvo and take our chances for bearable weather and a late camp.

We won't be back until Sunday so the comp will have to run itself until then I guess. I'll nominate mr Ed to mind the fort as comp administrator as he seems to have his finger on the rules etc. Of course you might not be interested Ed, which is OK and if there is anything to sort out I can do it Sunday afternoon along with the results and final scores for the week.

I have my bets on for today and I'll try to have a late bet with my accumulated comp. dosh on Sund. [Sund. WA races?].

thanks mate,I was a bit p.....ed off because it was showing $3.70 on my screen when they jumped.Obviously some other pool had not been added,or the notorious back room number crunchers hit it late.

Just as an aside,always keep an eye on ANY Freedman horse in the bush WHEN he puts Matt Allen on.They have a pretty healthy s/r.

I also had a $1000 on it on Mr. Logics thread,so yeah,it has been a good start to the week.Also had a good hit with real money,so I'm NOT crowing(course I am)just hope the week ends the way it's started!

Unlucky in the cup boys and so was my thing [dashand] at P.lincon. Went from $17 [way over the odds] to $6.80 in about 30sec. and just missed by a nose [if it had done it's sprint with it's head straight it would have won easily] !

In real life I had it e/w but someone dumped a big wad on for the win and lost.

go4it won $70 total and Alzor won $350 total.

Punters getting the race or horse numbers wrong [or even both] is very common in comps., but getting the name wrong[?], well I haven't come across that before!



The moral of the story [relevant to your situation]:
Last Sat. we were away camping and the brake did a drive into Orbost for a few supplies. While there I wanted her to put 4 win bets on for me. I just wrote the meeting/race nos./horse numbers down [no names]. The 4th. bet was SA r4/11. Guess what? There wasn't that many runners in r4 but there was in r5, so she deducted I must of meant r5/11, so on went the bets.

When she got back I was mortified to note my r4/[should have been horse 5] bet was not on and my hard earned was on a 25/1pp Donkey in SA r5 and for the win, not even e/w !
Oh well I thought, that will teach me for not writing down the horses NAMES because if I had, regardless of the race or horse numbers she would have found the name and the bet would have been on.

The moral of the story here in your case, is I had the names you supplied and did the right thing and found the correct races for them both, so you are a bit up against it I'm afraid but it's not all bad news:
