Just wondering if anyone has a trifecta or first 4 betting system.

I have read a lot about the backing 2nd to 4th fav (with overlays) and winning, so I was wondering if the same could be applied to trifectas and first 4's

For example

* For first - 2nd to 4th fav
* For Second - 2nd to 6th fav
* For Third/Forth - field

Of course this would cost you a lot to back every race at anyone meeting, not to mention at all meetings for the day, so using a flexi bet with NSWTAB of what ever percentage of your bank you normally use i.e. 2%,4%,5%,6% etc...

I enjoy the bigger dividends that the exotics provide and with flexi betting, it is affordable....

Thanks and good puntin

Stix,

UNfortunately the favourite will run in the quinella about 45-50% of the time so would eliminate every second bet. Using the stats I have available that I got from this forum, I worked out an approximate strike rate of about 10-12 % for your combos. given a ten horse race and a strike rate if your lucky of 15% you would need an average divi of about $ 633 or there abouts. If you could narrow down the races to ones where you think there is a false favourite you might be able to increase the strike rate and lower the divi needed to produce a profit. SOme one on the forum might be able to produce some actual figures based on a sizeable amount of races that would paint a clearer picture. Hope this info helps.

Stix,
I used to do this many years ago on track using bookies, but I presume it would work the same using the tab or a fixed odd bookie site.
Take your odds at the 10 minute mark, then bet the following patterns.
Each number is the market from fav out.
123/123456789
456789/123/456789
456789/456789/123
456789/123
The cost from memory was $384.
Gets a LOT of results some small and some very large.
If you get your bet size in profit knock off for the day.
Try to pick races 9 to 14 runners and stay clear of races where there are very short 1st 2nd and 3rd favs.

Cheers
