Ridden by Noel Callow(only ride for the day) was allowed to create an unassailable lead into the straight by other supposedly "competent" riders.
Although weakening, it had enough lead to win and imo an enquiry should be held to ask all the other hoops in the race why they allowed this result to unfold.....!!!!

Surely the Stewards must acknowledge a pattern emerging here....why is there a prevalence of favourites missing the start and playing no further part in the race due to hard riding to catch up to the field or being forced wide.....?
Come on.....they are "fair dinkum" kidding...how is it that the betting public can see this pattern but those entrusted to protect "the punter" cannot....?
They get on the radio and give glib responses to questions regarding some inglorious runs and imo are very quickly losing the confidence of the racing/betting public who pay their wages.....!!!!

No.2 Carbonel definitely took the running of the favourite, "On Your Mark" when it shifted in and "squeezed" the favourite which ran 4th.
Even if the rider of "On Your Mark" ie. Michael Rodd, doesn't protest then in the name of consistency, the stewards should lodge a protest on his behalf.
Who can forget the "Takeover Target" fiasco some time ago when the "people's champ" had a race taken from it due to these very circumstances.
We will watch and note what unfolds.

How was it that a "top" jockey couldn't devise a better plan other than racing 5-6 wide all the way....then faded to finish a long, long last...?
No wonder punters are abandoning Sydney racing to seek better wagering options.....! Give the punters a go.........!!! It is entirely "in your lap....!"

Also, what about the plethora of favoured runners "mysteriously" missing the start presently.....?
The sooner an ICAC officer is appointed to oversee Sydney racing the better.......! ie. He/she is in charge and the stewards report to him/her...!

Further to my comments in the previous post, it always concerns me to hear stewards referring to jockeys by their "nicknames."
Imo they should remain totally detached and refer to jockeys by their official names.
Is anyone else similarly concerned.....?

There were four late scratchings in this race and I personally congratulate the Stewards for their bravery and professionalism for taking this "drastic" action...!
Sure, it was inconvenient but much, much better than "doing my rrrr" wagering upon a runner which may have been injured in the fracas prior to race-start....!
These officials have protected the interests of the wagering public and should receive well-deserved accolades for their forthright action....!
As I have been saying for years now...."when in doubt...take 'em out....!"

If the Stewards("the guardians of the betting public"), do not act on the happenings in a Sydney race today then the longterm revenue growth, so "treasured" by the officials will suffer a major setback!
Why......because the betting public is quickly losing patience/confidence in the manner in which racing is administered in this "lame" state of NSW!
