gilt-edged swords...

Punters want the country or Tas meetings on Saturdays so you can bet on the big races elsewhere with the bookies.

But the clubs need the money from TAB turnover on their own racing, which can only happen when they put the races on less popular days, effectively killing off the bookies in the process by squashing their turnover.

Almost a case for the ACCC with the TABs finding yet another route to kill off competition....
