There have been two late scratchings at Randwick today:
SR8 3 Oakland Lad(fav)
SR9 16 Lang(well supported)
I am sure that punters who had backed these runners would have been disappointed and groaned when they were withdrawn but I have nothing but praise for the officials who made these decisions.
Sure, it is frustrating to the punters but it is a lot better than supporting a runner which may have no realistic chance of winning/placing.
Both were injured in the barrier stalls and if allowed to run their supporters may have done their money "cold."
As I always say: "when in doubt....take them out!"
Thereby protecting punters' betting banks allowing them to invest on other races on the program.
