I have noticed that in quite a few forums worldwide there has been a general clampdown on behaviour with people getting suspended quickly, posts removed increasingly as well as a general increase in advertising levels.
on top of this I think one of the major forum hosts is closing down all of their forums, tens of thousands of them due to the risks.
obviously, if legal problems and costs are driving forum owners to head this way then that is their right.
I suppose those who prefer open discussion can always go off and set up a new USENET newsgroup which is not too hard to do but is an open invitation to all idiots.
You cant stop anyone saying what they feel like saying, but then nobody is going to stop you either from making fair comment.
