Sad news that Old Comrade was humanely put down in Sydney yesterday.

Old Comrade who had been on the comeback trail from tendon problems, recently got an infection in his hock, just a few months after a knee infection ruined his comeback plans for the recent Sydney autumn carnival.

Faced with the choice of yet another operation, Bob Peters and his wife Sandra, decided not to put the 6YO gelding through any further turmoil.


Old Comrade raced 22 times for 6 wins and 8 placings for stakes of $1.78 million.
