Database Template

Hello All
I am looking for a template to create a database (Access or Filemaker Pro7) would anybody know where I can start looking .... I have been trying to keep my records in excel (Getting Tooooo hard :-)), I have looked at all these SUPER programs etc that would provide what I need except justifying the $'s at the moment is hard.

Any help would be great
