Summary
Race 1.
A good rider the difference in this race..Colless the master with the young ones...with weirdo scratched Heartbreak Pass at 3's was good value...I thought Prey For Peace hit the line nicely and one to keep an eye on in something easier.. Race 2. Looks like Sven and i picked the tri here....in a race that seemed fairly hard we killed it ..the race went to plan and Bitabiff just ran up to his previous run....... 2 from 2 so far and feeling fairly happy.. Race 3. Was very dissapointed with Cognisant...just looked very flat and didnt put in at all...mr Hornblower on the other hand was very good....i should have backed both at those odds....one that got away but cant be to greedy.. Race 4. yes took the 8's about Star of Canada..just talked myself into it,,,,didnt like the idea to ride him quiet,,,its just not his go..he needed to slot in or atleast try ...Becks was very good...but the Star did hit the line nicely and draws a barrier next start will be winning.. Race 5. Nexgen was ridden a treat...good betting race this...backed Cool Scene e/w who needs a break and Nexgen...should have went all out on Nexgen but still very happy with result...tri and 1st4 very nice aswell...Ice Chariot was a good run...one to book. Race 6. All BAr one...just to quick...St Basil and Picaday very nice Straddie trials..hope you guys took the earlies..... Race 7. Well what can i say...High Academy was just eating up the ground..should have won yet again...seems my prayers to Stewart to give him some room didnt work,,,, i would of had the treble 50x ......seems the distance was no worries at all for him but hes running out of races to win that are suitable.. Race 8. Go the Old boy....just to good...a new lease on life this grey's got....went e/w but should of went the win...but cant be greedy again...the tri and 1st4 very handy... All in all an absolute fantastic day at Eagle farm...wish i was there to cheer them all home...would have nailed a few of those bookies aswell,, hope you guys backed a few Sydney Yuck...Fluffy Courage, Spirit Of tara, Macs tune...4th 2nd 2nd no luck at all Melbourne Backed Lucky Diva good value at 3.20 thought she'd be odds on,.. Pure Silence and Valkyrie Diva to short for me.. Lost on Lukes turn...just found the class to much .. Adelaide Tivation (how unlucky was this horse,,sound familiar ?) Stormy Youth ..just not good enough Gold Coast Funover (donkey) Socialist ...what do they do with this horse now ?? cant drop back in class any further..might see him in DAlby soon..shame as hes a good horse and the Gold Coast track was never going to suit i thought his class would get him there though....Sunshine Coast would suit him very nice .. Not a very good report down south.....Lucky diva was something ..but a magical day in Brissie means drinks are on me boys |

Mav,
Congrats on a good win today Couple of top runs today. Obviously High Academy was pretty stiff, Stewart just needs to get him to the outside one of these days. Thought Prey For Peace was a nice effort too, just needs it a touch longer. Funny action on that horse though, throwing her legs everywhere down the straight. The best run for mine, though, was Ice Chariot. Steamed home from the tail and being jagged back and running onto heels at about the 1000m. He never really got balanced down the straight either. I see some of the jockeys who have ridden the horse think he might stay. If he does stay 2400m i think he is a top derby contender. Hope everyone had a nice win today, Sven |

Purcer's comments on Friday. A good laugh and not far wrong !!
"The Brisbane racing scene tomorrow features the Group 2 Sir Byrne Hart Stakes – and the meeting apart from that one race - is certainly thin as a boarding house scrape of butter on class runners. There are big numbers in some of the races, but it is a hard – nigh on impossible - day on the punt. The only good thing in the program at Eagle Farm should be Weirdo in Race 1, but it will be shorter than an Army cadet’s hair cut. Hopefully they’ll take it back mid-field or worse and barring shin soreness it will run straight over the top of some ordinary conveyances. Races 2, 3, 7 and 8 are as open as the Sydney Heads. Pick two of the winners of those 4 races – in one pick – and you are a genius. There should be some big trifecta dividends in some of those races tomorrow in Brisbane, so anyone betting in exotics needs to bet wide". |
