RVL chief vet Dr Paul O'Callaghan visited the stables of Bart Cummings where he inspected Viewed and Roman Emperor, and the David Hayes stable where he inspected Changingoftheguard.

Viewed, the defending Melbourne Cup champion, was galloped on when finishing third in the Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington on Saturday.

Dr O'Callaghan reported that the horse had incurred superficial wounds only to his hind legs and had suffered no structural damage in the incident.

He was passed suitable for racing, as was stablemate Roman Emperor which was also inspected whilst Dr O'Callaghan was in attendance.

With regards to Changingoftheguard, Dr O'Callaghan raised concerns with the horse's action at a trot and thus RVL stewards have ordered a further examination of the import tomorrow morning.
