![]() Morrisey, how can you have the BEST bowling attack when you admit you don't have a top quality spinner?
I'd still take our attack over yours ANY DAY. (same as you, when fit) |

![]() Well, Clarke is doing pretty much as I expected he would do when he finally got to play his first test. A great innings so far. Katich again showed how good he is against spin and Gilchrist was just brilliant as per normal with 35 off 34!

![]() Tip for Cricket punters!!
A sports bookmaker told me not long ago, the best bet in Cricket is to lay the DRAW. since then 3 tests have been played. All had results, even Eng v WI when a day a bit lost from rain. eg, 1st Test Ind v Aus. Layed at $2.26 before game, after 1st day $2.44. Can back to get the Arb but no need yet. Weather forecast is good for the rest of the Test, 1st day only day where rain was expected. |

![]() Northerly: u name one spinner i mentioned in Ashley Giles and used that against my post, talk about selectively using them against me. I said he was good not rubbish, and that if we had a singh, kumble (who will tear yr boys to shreds in the second innings) or warne, or even macgill (criminal error by the aussie selectors against a man with a conscience) we would have the perfect bowling attack... Not the greatest bowling ever, but perfect for us, two genuine quick men in Harmison and Jones, good medium/fast pace in Flintoff/hoggard and Anderson and then a great spinner rather than agood one..
As others have said, just wait til next year... it shoudl begood lads, almost every ticket for the first 3-4 days has sold out.. iam back in the uk in february and will have to go to the scalpers i think... england against the aussies in cricket is secodn to nothing for me.. and i am a confirmed football fan. hope you win against india, dunno why you striggle over there against them so much... for such a talented cricketing country.... |

![]() I wouldn't say we struggled over there last time... a freak innings from laxman and Dravid and a poor decision to inforce the follow on was the only diffrence to the result.
we would of learnt from that and the preperation for this series has been the most focused of any...including the ashes ..so i hope we haven't let those pomies under our gaurd. |

![]() I live just around the block from the local Football club which has Foxtel and a BIG screen TV. If I'm really desperate to watch something on Pay TV, I can go there.
Anyway, as I said, no surprise with Clarke. And Gilchrist is incredible. Other teams must hate seeing him come out at Number 7 with 11 centuries and an average of 53.5! [ This Message was edited by: sportznut on 2004-10-07 22:20 ] |

![]() I bet on Australia to win the 2nd test.
On my Sportsbet account it says I lost my bet. Im pretty sure there wasn't a draw option. Can anyone confirm this? This is listed in their terms and conditions: 53.1. In the event of a tie (i.e. where both teams are bowled out twice and have the same score), all bets to win on either team will be paid at half face value (i.e. half the win plus half the bet amount). Bets on the draw will be losers. This rule may vary for some domestic competitions. 53.2. At least one ball must be bowled for bets to stand, otherwise all single bets are void. However, if a match is officially abandoned (eg due to dangerous pitch conditions) then all undecided single bets on the match are void and bets refunded while affected multiple bets will be recalculated excluding that leg. Any help??? |
