Default Handicap Mortar System

Rule 1: Operate on handicap races (both flat and jumps races are considered).
Rule 2: Betting at level stakes, simply back the top five weighted horses excluding the favourite.
Rule 3: In races of 8 runners back the top four excluding the favourite.
Rule 4: Less than 8 runners, no bet.

The website www.horseracingsystems.net comments "This is a viable method of betting because your selections are always the best horses in the race and in the long run class always shows. However, punter ignorance means that very often a top horse will win a handicap race at a massive price.Paper trade this for a few days and you might just see for yourself the benefits of this approach.

"Usual caution is required. That is, when the going is soft it is harder for a top weight to perform well so common sense is needed."
