I was looking at my form guide. A couple of horses in particular and I noticed 2 of the horses were beaten by 6 lengths or more and the other one was beaten by 1.75 lengths, so am i correct in eliminating the 2 horses beaten by more than 6 lengths.

However, I haven't done any research on this, but I intend to and will let you all know my results.

Depends who they were beaten by. If they were beaten by far superior horses to who they are racing against today they may still win against the weakies. If they were racing on a heavy track last time and didn't like it but the track is firm today they may improve 6 lengths. Can't eliminate them just on the info you have given.
