Thumbs up THAT'S VALUE!!!!

Yahooo! Gotta tell you about this one.

When TAB Sportsbet first put out their feature race prices on Thursday afternoon, I just couldn't believe my eyes. They had Paratroopers at $10!!! I had to go and have another look at the field to see if I was missing something, because I thought he should have been a clear cut favourite for the race. Anyway, after my short hesitation, the price had dropped to $9 when I put my bet on. I still thought that was AMAZING value. Of course you know the rest. The price was continually crunched right down to $3.50 at jump time and the result was never in doubt.

It's great when things like this actually work out!!!

Didn't want to jinx him.

Besides, I guess it's really only great value if he wins.

I tossed up between Appleby and Pompous for the longshot in the tipping comp. No prizes for guessing which one I eventually chose.

Way to go Sportz! I love hearing about getting the edge. It's what horse racing is all about. I haven't checked the late results yet but another AUS fan loved Paratroopers tonight and touted it to me right before we were ungloriously dismissed from our loving turf club tonight. LOL I chose not to back the PARAS because I too thought he'd be short(might still be with American Prices). But he really loved him and after he was getting destroyed all night (the last straw being Gai's OUR HIGHLANDER quitting for us in the lane---"No doubts. The Fittest Horse in the stable and is thriving in training. Hard to beat," Gai's tips. Well, Gai! Keep him in training and in the stable if you see fit. He really was hard to beat....if the race was 6 furlongs instead of1 1/4 miles. LOL Never again on Gai. FUMBLE- she did tout this one pretty good also-"will be in it long way". She had a great night but I found my first trainer in AUS to hate!!

Joseph Pride and John O'Shea continue to impress me though---thanks XPT. I've got to find that chart with their best jockey/trainer combos you posted some time ago..

BUT IF YOU WANT TO TALK VALUE...... guess what the Mel R2) #3 AUSSIE LOTI/#12 SHASTA exacta paid here in the states??? Don't look at the American site. Try to guess.
