New to trifectas so go easy if I crash. I'm hoping for two strikes minimum.

$1 Box 4 trifectas.

Rosehill

Race 1 - 1,2,3,5.
Race 2 - 1,3,4,5.
Race 3 - 1,6,9,13.
Race 4 - 2,4,5,12.
Race 5 - 1,2,6,8.
Race 6 - 1,3,4,5.
Race 7 - 5,8,11,12.
Race 8 - 1,4,6,7.

Flemington

Race 1 - 1,2,9,11.
Race 2 - 1,3,4,10.
Race 3 - 1,2,3,4.
Race 4 - 1,2,3,5.
Race 5 - 1,2,5,16.
Race 6 - 1,2,6,7.
Race 7 - 2,3,8,10.
Race 8 - 4,5,6,15.

Simple selection method based on average prizewinners. Just to see how it goes.

At dollar bets that would be $384.

Poor hermes, I know how you feel.

I have many little systems that work in the longrun, but the moment I post them here, everything goes haywire. It's frustrating because I don't post them unless I have made money from them over a few months, and I know they work....but all of a sudden BANG!

My advice is, if you have researched it well, know it works over a substantial period of time, then stick with it. We all experience the highs and lows of racing...it's whether you can weather the tough times that will see you make a profit in the longrun.

Hermes - have you tried/perfected Quinella betting? In my opinion (again feel free to ignore it) trifecta betting is very risky for two main reasons:
1. It has the biggest TAB take figure (20% for Supertab) of any of the bet types so you have an extra disadvantage you have to overcome.
2. None of the TAB's provide approximates before jump on trifecta combos so you can't see if there is any value in the bet - you often get huge variations in the payouts between the TABS (not unusual to see one TAB pay double what another one pays). Would you place a win bet not knowing if your selection was paying $2 or $10???

I see these items as huge disadvantages to successful punting and that is why I would generally go for Quinella before Trifecta (the NSW tab at least gives approximates on Quinellas - not sure about the other TABs).

Again this is just my opinion and I realise that some people do come out ahead on Trifecta betting - just seems like a higher risk than Quinellas to me.

Hermes, I believe you snared the trifecta in race 1 at Flemington which paid $125 on TAB Ltd.

Did too michaelg. Many thanks for pointing it out. TAB Ltd thrives on uncollected winnings. I missed it. So trifectas are trickier to check than placebets...

Thanks for the tips becareful. Sage advice as usual. (See my Simple Selection topic. You were right there too.) I've tried only a few quinellas in my time. No luck so I gave up. Not much luck at trifectas either. I want at least one form of multiple betting in my bag of tricks. Bhagwan specializes in creative multiples thinking I notice. I'm reading his posts...
