Repeat Jockey System
Not sure if this system has been posted here before but i found this post on another forum.
////////// I would appreciate some help from any forum members who have access to GTX or any other database that can run some tests for me. I am not a great believer in "systems" as such but am open to the possiblility a long term profit may be achievable using a "system". Back in the early 80's when I used to go to the races twice a week in Brisbane, an elderly gentleman who was a successful punter gave me a little insight into one of his "gems". He was a "systems" man and used to run five or six systems in tandem but with seperate banks. His "systems" were not the kind where you backed the jockey with red colours etc etc but more to do with statistical analysis. I asked him what his most successful system was and how long it had been in profit. He told me that the "REPEAT JOCKEY SYSTEM" was his best and had been in profit using level stakes for well over six years. The system is based on following a jockey who has ridden a winner at the current meeting you are betting on. The logic is that a winning jockey is a confident jockey and may lead to a future winner at that meeting. I have followed it on and off since then but never seriously because I have not been able to verify its long term profitability. The rules are very simple: 1. Back every runner from Race 2 onwards whose jockey has ridden a winner previously on the same program. 2. Wait until 2 minutes prior to the jump and only back those runners that are showing $10 or more for the WIN on the "home" tote. In some races late in the program you may be backing up to four or even five runners. /////////// I checked Decembers results on Vic races and it had very good results (mostly on country tracks), anyone want to test it? |

This is a very old system actually, but I've got to tell you from my perspective you do a lot better backing the jockeys who have not won that day.
Usually the odds on the repeat jockeys horses are too slim because everyone "watches" his mounts if he is firing, just like in form trainers.
