Default Greyhound racing

As I have recently returned to uni full time as a mature aged student and am only working part time ,and with semester 1 about to finish i am going to have some spare time ( and not much $$$ !!) and i was thinking about putting some time into the punt. I was wondering if anyone had some tips in regard to a good source of greyhound information in the hope of developing a system or at least generating my own prices.

I watch the dogs and think that due to smaller pools there are some false favs and inflated prices for winners.

Any advice appreciated, cheers!!

Default information

Hi dp,
Post your email address an I'll send you some information regarding setting up for the dogs.
Your first port of call should be the GRV website.

Default More Discipline to us all

Live up to your name.
Try minimising the Number of races you invest on.

I suggest go through the fields and narrow the meeting down to the few races you feel most comfortable with.
Whether it be 1 or 2 or Zero.
When you assess the runners to come up with a market, your market has to be an accurate one or it ain't worth anything at all.
And the more unknowns you have, the more inaccurate your market will be.
You don't need to be accurate with every runner in your selected race. But you do have to be more accurate than the bookmakers on the selection you intend betting on.
If you find the animals available price is way over what you assess,be sure to double check what you may have missed regarding your animal, and also what you may have missed about any animal the bookmakers regard as a much greater chance than you do.
Bookmakers don't like to give away over the odds. They are not charity workers.

Like,I went through the fields at HORSHAM and came up with Race 6 and Race 8 being worthy to me of analyzing.
Usually the Daily Double Races followed by the Quaddie Races are the most suitable for form analysis.

In Race 6 I narrowed it down to 2 Chances.Schmick Allen who will start too short, and Young Junior, who is worth an each way investment.Schmick Allen has the current form to entitle him to be at a very short quote.
Am selecting Young Junior on his placing over the track and distance.
Hard to see him beating the favourite on times, but should be able to beat the rest of the field home.

After having a closer look at Race 8,there is too much doubt so I stay out of the Race.

So the one bet - $6 eachway on Race 6 No.4 Young Junior.

There is also a Free for All at Warragul tonight.

Race 8 No.8 Power of Grey had a great win out of the Pink last start and starts from there again tonight.
Definately a better than Even Money chance of taking this Race out.

So $20 straight out on this one .

So if the idea is to win money, wait until you know the dogs as well as your own children.
That is the kind of race to bet on.
That is the kind of race you can win on.

ALWAYS REMEMBER...."DISCIPLINE PAYS"

Default Sandown tonight

The Free for All Races tend to throw together dogs with all the necessary form factors to be able to frame accurate markets
Sandown Race 8 is an excellent Race to rate because it is very easy to align each dogs ability against each other.

2 Vapour Whirl $2.65
3 Schalken $10.00
4 Fenceline $9.00
5 Trewly Special $11.00
6 Sleek Physique $100
7 Azzaneed Ispeed $6.60
8 Corzac $6.10

The problem arises here because those that set the markets are analyzing the same form factors that we are looking at.
So what happens is their market and our market become pretty much the same.
And this is what has happened with Race 8 at Sandown tonight.
So let's try a Trifecta here.

2
4,7,8
3,4,5,7,8

Cost $6

I wouldnt be suprised if ELEKTRA spoils your quinella moeee. Possibly even BRIDGE OF HOPE. For one that bangs on about value why would you even consider that quinella?? Might be brain freeze? Dont worry we all get it!! Just thank me for reminding you.... lol

Default OUCH

Obviously the line between a sprinter and a stayer is very thin in the Greyhound world.
The 2 topweights were looking for another 50 metres.
Oh well!

Off to SALE Tomorrow.Well done with Elektra,Downby Law.
Just thought it would stagger .Not see it out!
Did get tired, but got the chocolates
