Gutsy performance with a late chip in to save par then another 4 footer on the last hole
his opening price was $67 on nswtab + $7 for top aussie
What a shocker from Phil,he's not getting in the fairway all day with his driver but he still hits it on 18

Backed Ogilvy for top Australian. Never even thought of taking him to win.

Also backed Mickelson and Furyk for the top 5, so a good result for me.

Not sure what Phil was doing on the last with a driver!!! If I was him, I would have been more than satisfied with simply making sure I got no worse than bogie.

You're right. When I saw that chip in, I remember thinking it was a great shot, but perhaps it still wouldn't be enough to win. As it turned out, it was probably the difference between winning and losing!

if you do play golf you could appreciate how good those two shots were(i.e. the chip in and 4 foot putt). If you look back thru the scorecards of certain golfers you would again realise how much every shot counts ,for e.g. Padraig Harrington had a 7 on 18 at the end of 3rd rd,a 5 would put him in a play off.mike weir double bogied 9 and 18 in the third round,2 pars and HE wins.I don't reckon he did a Steven Bradbury, that was freakish..he just played good solid golf and made the shots when it counted...Monty and Phil CHOKED big time
Cheers

Hitting driver off the tee was insane by Mickelson as he hadn't looked like putting it in the fairway all week, but that second shot he tried to play has to be the stupidest shot ever attempted. Glad he tried it though because it is about time an Aussie won a major!!
