Default Bikkie Tin Blues & Rassmussen

Can someone please enlighten me as to where Alan Thomas was coming from when he compares this horse to the great Kingston Town??? Tommy Smith must have turned in his grave in disbelief(R.I.P.)Sure,it was a very good performance, and he could have broken the record if Brad had pushed him out.But the burning reality is he was entitled to win like that.Mitanni has won only 1 race in 12 months and was never going to get the trip, and the other 3 runners are just ordinary plodders,so he had to win,and win easily. What surprised me was the price I got!I had him at 10s on!Sure, they will have to take him south now because he'll get weighted out of everything up here, but don't lose sight of the fact he is an 8 y.o.and the opposition will be much more competitive than anything he has faced up here.If I am proven wrong I will be the first to admit it,but I will definitely be treading warily.
The horse I am taken with is Rassmussen. This bloke has speed to burn and is like a greyhound pinging out of box 1.He has given nothing else a look in at his last 2 starts,he justs runs them ragged,no matter which gate he comes out of.I'd like to see him down the straight at Flemington where he could really utilize his raw speed and talent,IMO it would suit him to a tee,but will have to wait and see where they go with him.I think it will pay to follow him more than the other one.
cheers

Rassmussen was my standout selection for the whole weekend, and my only large bet. Got even money which i was happy with. The race went exactly to plan, always looked like it was the same quality race as its previous where it won easily.

I didn't hear what Alan Thomas said, but I'm pretty certain that he wouldn't have been saying Bikkie Tin Blues was as good as Kingston Town!!! He probably just said it was a Kingston Town like performance! And let's face it, it was pretty damn impressive, and he's in incredible form. But as you said, he's an 8YO. It's a bit hard to see him doing anything like that against more difficult opposition.

I agree with you Sportz. I heard the call. There was no way Alan Thomas meant the horse was as good as Kingston Town.

I don't even think it was a Kingston Town like performance. Against that lot Kingston Town could have won by well over 20 lengths eased up!

Might And Power would have led them by so far that its jockey would have had time to turn around, smile and wave "see you later" to them!

Sorry Neil,

I distinctly heard A.T. say about 4 or 5 times"Is this Kingston Town?"on Sky.

I do agree with Sportz that he was only meaning to allude that is was a K.T. type performance, but hey, comparisons are most always odious. Also I have to agree with your comments of how far K.T. would have beaten that sorry lot by.

cheers
