Thanks for positive feedback, the prince, dusty dude & The Catparrot.

No need for anymore feedback, Sandgroper postings will continue!

White Foil’s first-up run was very disappointing, the prince. As per an interview race morning (on local racing radio), connections were expecting a good first-up effort.

According to stewards report, White Foil raced wide and ungenerously.

Interestingly scratched from Belmont yesterday, and has been nominated for the Farnley Stakes this Saturday. On the limit AND WITH A GEAR CHANGE – blinkers on (first time).

Just digressing a little, the prince. You mentioning you come from Brisbane brought back memories.

Did a working stint in Brisbane (some 6 months in the IT dept at Castlemaine Brewery) many years ago. During this time naturally developed a taste for the old XXXX (which I still occasionally partake) and Brisbane’s winter racing (I remain envious of what I consider your great winter weather).

Still look forward every year to your winter racing, but to this day have a much higher success rate at Eagle Farm than Doomben.

Not sure exactly why, although I do at time have different theories. Also seems to me, that a lot of horses either do well at one or the other track, but not at both!?

comments on previous several items.
white foil. i have backed him he won a listed race in early march and has great promise. i have given up backing first up.
other commentators on this list serve mentioned analysing our own betting and i feel that its too difficult to win on first uppers. so would give white foil another chance.
re doomben and eagle farm.
doomben seems to have a favouring to inside barriers eagle farm appears fairer.
as for giving up - never - i guess that posting our selections brings some reality to our success rate. over a days punting am quite happy but dont ask me to give you a hot tip.
