Default COMPUTER HELP

I'm trying to save some racing files also some pictures to my USB Key thingo, my comp wont let me do it, I get a prompt: "unable to move file as it is write protected" remove write protection or use another disk????? bamboozled..... anyone help?

A few possabilities......

Go to 'start', 'run' type 'cmd'. at the command prompt, type 'format: (the letter of your drive)'

or:
Just move the switch from HOLD to NORMAL

or:
- boot in safe mode
- run windows explorer
- right click on the removable disk
- format it

Thanks Crash, I'm trying the first one after format:k do I just hit enter? if it didn't work, but can't figure out what you mean by Just move the switch from HOLD to NORMAL, you can see where my computer skills are ey?

Crash, guess what ? don't they always say check the "fuse" first ? hee hee,

there is a switch on the USB thingo itself to switch off the write protection, I presume thats what you meant? anyway it's all ok now cheers!
