British Open
any interest this year?
Birkdale has been a great course for Aussies over the years, would be fantastic to see one get up. He might be a prick, but Allenby's ball striking is certainly most suited to links golf, i think he is out best chance to do well. Peter Fowler also deserves a mention, this bloke is often described as having the best short game in THE WORLD, some of the stuff he can do is incredible. Mickelson is surely the only yank with a chance, he's one of the few to have an imagination out on the course (e.g. played the US Open with 5 wedges and no driver). he's got a terriffic short game, and if he can put the high balls away is a big chance Sergio has been playing some good golf, but his putting remains a liability, and i still don't know if he has the temperment to WIN a major. similar case for Lee Westwood. Rose and Donald have potential, but haven't been playing well and you can get some big odds for them. Ross Fisher has been playing well and is a chance. Ernie Els has been swinging like me recently, he has been all over the joint and i really can't see him coming close. Andres Romero has come 8th and 3rd in his only Opens so watch out again |

Fair dinkum, how about the conditions so far today? Not sure if it's going to improve later in the day, but if any of the early players manage to shoot par, it'll feel like 5 under!!!
