Smile favs

I am wondering if some one can assist me here please ?

I read that the % of favs that win is approx 30% to 33%.

I would assume that this is the case on Sat metro.

What about midweek metro including Thursday / Friday nights ?

What about provincial / country ?

how about maiden races please ?

many thanks

Strap

Strapper

I haven't the actual stats but I am reliably informed that the 30%+ figure is very close across the board with the LOT about 10%. They reckon the trotters are up around 40% S/R (of course reflected in the divies, so same story)

PS One point is, it seems the S/R is about the same for the actual Fav, and also for the Pre-post fav (though the final selections may vary sometimes)

The stats reveal that Favs in Handicap events win less than non-H/cap races.

So the suggestion is to think twice about following favs in these events.
These events are well known to have winners with wild form figures thus producing a number of outsiders

One of the highest figures for favs, is market favs fist career start in Maiden events approx 33%.
This looks to be weird for something that has never raced in its life & flies in the face of anything to do with form.

Country & Prov Fav stats are slightly higher than metro events , mainly because the field sizes are usually smaller.
Their av price is also lower.

Cheers.

Bhags, isn't it also true that although the S/R for handicaps is less, the Ave. div. is greater which results in the same story again?? mind you that stat on first up (i.e. first run) is very interesting.

The stats show that the LOT is greater with Favs in H/Cap events.

The av div is much the same as per field size.

Cheers.

This site gives you up to date favourite stats for each track, open the meeting page (under todays racing) and click course favourites.
